sorry the material isn't better, but it is sharp to the pixel! amazing lens, probably doubled the weight of my camera lol. The zoom action kind of sucks (push and pull rather than turn), but it's a pretty cool lens. Probably completely useless at night unfortunately.

oh yeah, all of those were shot at 400mm f/5.6... definitely some fringing I forgot to stop down and try some, but they're still pretty good.

it was kind of cloudy, so I had to use ISO800-1600, and I was going for sharpness rather than noisefreeness. I'm sure if I spent a little time on each one, I could get it looking better. What throws me is the strange foreground bokeh effect that the lens has. It almost looks like motion blur, but it isn't. Anyway, it's a pretty cool lens.

Did my first official (albeit impromptu) photoshoot for compensation today. Was up flying with my friend and invited another guy to form up with us and I snap a couple air-to-air shots of his plane. I'm going to get flight time in the other plane as a result. This was my first opportunity to take air-to-air shots so excuse any imperfections that there might be, I'm still learning what to do. I was not in the best of photo-birds, but what I got was pretty good I think. I was using my Digital Rebel XTi with the 55-250mm lens and a Circular Polarizer. All shots were taken on Aperture Priority set to f/8.0. Any comments and criticism are welcome:
