I have Photomatix but can't get results like that lol

I must be doing something wrong with photomatrix pro. I cant get the details enhancer to work, i will edit it to my liking via the preview then when i hit create it looks totally different. all the shots i do from there are using the tone compressor.

pardon the way off numbers i was just getting angry and sliding them all over.

Thanks guys, its been a long time in the works....

Going to Le Mans tomorrow at Mazda Raceway, wish i had had enough time to rent a nice telephoto lens for the event, oh well my 55-200 will have to do, pics to follow...

Nice! I'll be a Lime Rock Park for 4 days next weekend. So excited to use all my new camera equipment.

Fort Adams State Park
Situated at the mouth of the Newport Harbor, Fort Adams State Park offers an exceptional panoramic view of both Newport Harbor and the East Passage of Narragansett Bay.

Thx. I need to visit more places like this. Just being there I imagine back in time. For instance the cannon chambers, they have an echo to them. The people operating them must have been deaf. It takes 7 people to operate 1 cannon and there were 117 cannons in the fort. That must have been crazy loud during war time.

^ What did you get??

Sorry.. I haven't been keeping up with this thread. >_<

Renting a 10-22mm and 24-70L f/2.8 for my trip to France. Totally pumped to get to play with those over there! Also using it as a test run as to if I want to buy the 24-70... (headbang)

Oh yeah... I also picked up 4x 500W construction lamps from Lowes today. We had them on clearance for $3.99 so I was like "why not"? I'm going to try and make some soft boxes out of them and see what i can do about lighting. For those of you (funky and gr?) who use portable external lighting, what do you typically use to power it? Obviously my 500W lights are going to need a bit more oomph than normal studio lights, but suggestions are always welcome. I wanna see if I can't do a night shoot with the borrowed lenses in the next night or two. Got a place picked out and everything...

be careful making soft boxes for those. They get pretty hot, and you don't want to be starting any fires! Just make sure that they can get good ventilation.

I made an hour drive yesterday and picked up a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens!

The weight of my camera has now tripled, but I am in LOVEEEE!

here are a few snapshots

All were jpgs from the camera set at sharp 3 contrast 2 saturation 2. This thing is awesomeeeeeee!

Yeah, i know how hot those pieces get, I'm going to offset the box from it by a few inches, and then the diffuser sheet 2-3 feet beyond that. Power is my main concern at the moment...

Dude, than lens looks awesome! May I ask how much it cost you?

My suggestion....very long extension cords.... lol

But seriously, unlike normal studio strobes these are constantly on so the typical battery unit will not work. You will need some sort of generator to feed power to the lights.
