Any photographers in here?

Well, I purposely got rid of some contrast. There was too much in the original. The colors are washed out because I tried my hand at cross processing in photoshop... I'm learning.

i was trying out a new texture layer last night. Opinions?

LOL..i guess you forgot to mention that. Well..the cross processing doesn't work on this composition. Good try though hehe

It looks more like plastic wrapping than a vintage feel, because of the left edge and bottom right corner looks like there's something spilled. (the one you asked for opinion, not the last one ;))

Yeah, I was going to say that the photo lost contrast, but I think I just have contrast on the brain... This might sound weird, but I would try upping the contrast on the overlay and then lowering the opacity... That might let the photo through a little more without losing too much definition in the texture layer. I do like the texture layer... just not what it did to the photo underneath.

The solution could be as easy as a simple curves adjustment.

I had a little more fun with it... hope you don't mind. Notice how detail is recovered from the dark areas of the horse, but not sacrificed in the light areas...

I appreciate the effort (thanks!!!)... but I prefer my original. The colors in this look way off and the image seems to be too 'flat'

I like it and it definitely has that vintage look, but the red lips kinda throw it off if you were going for that look. I like the faded, but again, the brightness of the lips throws it all off in my opinion.

Just an outside observation and I'm sure others will have opinions.

I should post up a video sometime about how my horse reacts to anything 'new'

She flips the eff out... it is kind of funny. xD

I was thinking as you would be shooting at noon-ish you could probably lay the reflector down on the ground then slowly angle it to add the desired fill light. Reflectors are usually pretty cheap and it might be worth it to get one and throw it out in the field for a couple days so that they could get used it it laying around...? Just a thought.

My wife and I have a 42" 5 in 1 reflector that we picked up at Wolf on sale for like $30 I think... it's been a while but I remember it wasn't bad at all.
