I got a reversal ring for my Nikon so I could mount my 18-135mm backwards. Just for reference those aphids are about a 2mm in length.

Here is my attempt at a DIY lens reversal. Involved my 75-300IS and my 50mm reversed on it with scotch tape LOL

I will call with my 2 grains of salt :)

Yeah I have heard of people mating two lenses. Seemed too complicated to me!! Good results but complicated.

And I can match you a knife blade. The light was acting weird on this one so it look interesting.

I just ordered a reversing ring!

Sweet!! The only thing is you better have A LOT of light and you need to ghetto rig the apature open.

I used a paperclip that I bent all to pieces and adjust it to get the apature I want.

And odds are its coming from china so be prepared to wait lol
 
Yeah I figured you would need a lot of light, considering all the pics posted were pretty dark, but I have a mini tripod and lots of posable lights, so I should be ok!
