Alright I need help!!

My vote is go with the steedspeed. Go cheap and and you will want to upgrade sooner or even worse....zoom zoom boom. I went boom off the hiboost turbo kit back in the day. I am staying away from the FS turboed....but if done right can be reliable. Just do it right man.

Wow.. yeah, you may think about planning for an engine build soon and go forged with the turbo. As far as cutting for the FMIC, there is some cutting involved but not much. Also, I would go with the Steedspeed mani vs. the OBX. There's been some issues with those, so you may want to consider the Steedspeed mani since it is great quality and made for these cars. I have one on mine now and love it.

Yeah...that's what I thought, should I buy a OEM engine rebuild kit, I think protege garage has a kit, or have a shop just order the parts?
Also what does the 1.8 coil/wire conversion do?

Nah, you need forged parts. I have CP pistons and K1 rods. There are also the Pauter rods and Wiseco pistons. If you're going to rebuild it, get the good stuff, not the stock stuff. The 1.8L conversion smooths out the powerband. Another thing, you are sooo close to Sam at Crossover Auto, you may as well have him build you an engine, he knows everything about these engines and is extremely knowledgeable about helping you to achieve your goals. He is about four hours from you in Plano, TX

Forged wise, all I would need is the pistons and rods? Thanks I have been trying to find some one some what near me that does that kind of work. I'll have to call him up.

Pistons, rods, new gaskets, bearings, head studs, all that good stuff. You will want to get the block checked to see if it needs honed out or if it's okay (unless you want the .020 overbore), get your crankshaft balanced, etc.

Well I guess I'll do the .020 overbore to safely run the GT28RS Turbo, really wouldn't want to bust anything. With the FMIC Kit would I need to get the Kit with the CAI or the SRI? and I'm not really sure on the size of the FMIC I should get?

If you go with one of my kits, a 6" high one will fit well without having to cut the crash bar. A 7" or 8" high one will hang below your bumper a good bit unless you want to cut your crash bar. You will need a SRI also if you go with the original kit that relocates your MAF. I do offer another kit for the MSP that works with the stock radiator (you have to make a bracket for it) and runs the cold piping through the SMIC area and allows you to have a CAI. However, with that kit, you won't be able to upgrade your radiator because of the piping going through the SMIC area. With the original kit that works with the SRI, you will be able to upgrade your radiator if you decide to now or later on (and you can keep your SMIC in that area until that time to support the radiator). More than likely, you will want to upgrade your radiator, so I would recommend the kit that uses the SRI.

Awesome thanks. Whats the story on your Turbochargers you sell? are they any better then the GT28RS turbo or just different brand and perform the same way?

I'm not selling them right now. I'm still waiting on more information to go through, and I'll be an AV on here as soon as that happens.

Ha, yeah I know where he is but like I said "some what near me."ha I'm still trying to find some one in the Houston area. 35 mins would be perfect. But I sort of find this guy with MDR Performance, his name is David Geiger. Anyone know if they do good work?
