Alright I need help!!

I'm not selling them right now. I'm still waiting on more information to go through, and I'll be an AV on here as soon as that happens.
Oh. Does anyone have an idea what a forged engine would run me, not counting the head.. 3,500-4,500?

~$1900 is what I got mine built for.. $600 for the pistons, $400 for the rods, $200 for the gaskets, $100 for the head studs, $600 for the labor.

Does it matter where I buy the pistons, rods, gaskets, and head studs price wise? Where did you get yours?

I got my pistons from SU, my rods were on here from a vendor that just had them left over. If you check Crossover Auto's website, everything is on there.

This is the quote crossover gave me, Parts would be $2175. labor would be $2550 machine work labor is $600. (balanced, blueprinted, cylinder overbore &hone, main cap align hone) He is really expensive, I mean I know forged is expensive but what he wants is expensive

quality costs money

you get what you pay!
in the world of time = money, those who charge cheap just to get your business cuts corners while the ones that charge more do it right because the take the time to do it!

Already looking for another place because thats stupid how much that is. I'm going to check out this place called MDR performance its in Kemah,TX about 30 mins from me. I'll keep y'all updated

not at all...but it doesnt work....i rigged a fuel filter after it as a catch can and i still blow a s*** ton of oil through it..

Oh okay cool, haha Oh well I guess it was pointless to buy then

Is the Thunder Turbo manifold any good?

heres a basic list.

manifold > Turbo > S pipe

Oil feed line and T fitting > oil return line and you need to bolt or weld a fitting to the oil pan

Water lines (i would just do the coolant bypass and put longer lines on there and use them for the turbo coolant lines....but hey thats just me lol)

Hotpipe (from turbo to intercooler) > Intercooler > Cold pipe (Intercooler to throttle body)

now the bov you have options on...personally id relocate the maf to the cold pipe and run the bov before it.

and you will need a intake. I personally got a CAI made at a exhaust shop for 25 bucks lol.

Also on the engine management side you will need a msp ecu and i recommend a SSAFC

$2550 is for LABOR, not machine work
machining costs 600 bucks

the labor includes EVERYTHING start to finish, that means from when the car comes in the shop and the car drives out of the shop!

A plain engine pull, overhaul, and reinstall is 25-28 book hours, anyone charging substantially less is going to cut corners. A performance build with blueprinting every last spec and tolerance takes time. Like it's been said quality comes with a price.

I'd be skeptical on taking the advice from people with thrown together Proteges.

where did you go to get your engine done?

Well could I do without a 0.020 overbore? I'm wanting to run the GT28RS turbo, but true I don't want to pay for half ass work. But I have no clue how I would even get my car 5hours away? that would be a problem if I decided to do it with crossover/you guys. I mean y'all do amazing work buts its a lot of money. but I also was thinking I could buy a brand new forged engine for that price instead of doing a rebuild. only if I was paying 1900 for the rebuild like Metallic36 I would do.

I'm thinking I mite just do a rebuild and do forged internals later just because its going to be about this time next year if I do the forged internals when I finish everything. I rather be able to have it done right before the summer than after it.

doesn't it make more sense to just swap in a junk yard engine and rebuild your original with forged later if you are going to do that?
