All Wheel Drive

agreed. once the other manufs get their act together, it'll be really fun. but put marcus in any other car, and he'll still be dominant. he's just better than everyone else right now. look at the difference btw him and burns in the same car. and burns won a WRC championship, so he's definitely no slouch...he's just a headcase, while marcus is ice. plus he doesn't blink. :D

loeb and marko martin are the next great drivers, IMO.

I don't mind the thread jacking so much...I don't have anything to say about AWD just yet anyway. You guys keep chatting and let everyone enjoy the free bumps.

awd is the way to go on our cars i hope xelderx can pull it off . maybe i'll start a project on an awd pro 5 too ...loss of power yes but thats what turbos are for, right . but if you ever pull up to the light next to a fwd car you'll get him on the launch my friend has a 400 hp wrx and he has never lost at a stop light even against 500hp supras by the time there cars hook up he is at full boost with out a single chirp from the tires

no see thats the thing, we have the correct tranny for it. Its the same tranny they use same model number and everythign they just put a cover were the drive shaft connect on the back side. They were talking about it at a local meet i may be wrong, but thats what they were saying could be bs.
They probably mean the casing is the same. It would make sense to only manufacture one casing and machine it differently for different cars.
In order for the rear wheels to be drive, you need the driveshafts (I'm sure you know this) and to spin the drive shafts, they need to be connected to the engine through the transmission.
The FWD tranny would only include the necessary gear to link the front wheels to the front diff, to the gears in the tranny, to the engine.
You have to find a way to connect the rear equipment to the gears too, you need more (or longer) shafts inside the transmission, and the extra parts to make it all work.
I would assume for the sake of manufacturing and cost savings the transmission housings are essentially the same on all protegs, sport20's etc.

wrong
the tranny internals are quite different... the center diff and front diff are built into the tranny.... the gear ratios are completely different... even the case is different... the tranny code is different

a transversely mounted FWD engine and tranny does NOT work like a truck/SUV's longitudally mounted engine and RWD tranny nor does it work like their EXTERNAL 4WD transfer cases

I'm still waiting on that call from Corksport. They said it would be about two weeks and i did a follow up and they were already aware of my shifter and suspension concernes that TheMan addressed earlier. The wait is killing me and I'm going to have to wait again after this to save up for the turbo. I can't rap, but I can spend money like P-Diddy.
