ajkulish's Build Thread #2

i had to adjust my drivers side headlight. there was a huge gap on top and bottom. i removed the headlight a put a pipe between the frame rails, and the core support and pulled up to bend back the front lip of the bottom of the core support which allowed the headlight to move up about 3/4 of an inch. then i redrilled the hole on the plastic part of the headlight where the bolt is suppossed to go, so the headlight would continue to fit flush with the fender. it took about 10 minutes to do all of this. then for bumper sag i have my clips to pull up the side, and i drilled 2 pieces of plywood to my bumper under the headlights to make the bumper sit closer to the headlights. and because i have a sedan bumper support, i had to cut it a little higher to allow the bumper to travel the extra inch upward on the drivers side.

looking at the front of my car, youd never guess that i ran into a wall this winter :)

Cool beans. I have the AAC bumper supports in the rear which helps load. I have a problem with the pointed tabs where the bumper, headlight, and fender meet. One tab is broken and I need to find a way to make it stay. I'm moving my fenders in and adjusting them so my hood fits better. Looks like I'll have a front end readjustment day at the shop

That's while I'll be at the shop. this hood isn't as wide as my stock hood so I'll be ovaling out the fender holes and moving them in about 1/4". I need teh foam front bumper support and the 90* bumper supports I'm adding to the frame should help big time

Remember the dinner meet in Toledo? We ate at b-dubs (I think) and then most of us went for ice cream. Jon had his 3 at that time, there was a guy with a CX7 (alien), Corey and family, another guy with a 3, you, and Jenny and I.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I went to the woodward dream cruise and kept the blower on. My car was getting lots of attention.

And Larry I do remember that now. It seems like ages ago!

Almost done -___- exhaust and paint still aren't here.

I wanted to take a video but my phone was dead. And there were at least 10,000 cars out there. It's something every car guy must attend in his life. Awesome.

Id believe it. I live off 6 mile, and 2 minutes from woodward. To get from 6 mile to 14 mile down woodward it took about 2 hours.

i have someone at national customer service helping me out. shes been devoting her last 2 days to finding this.

but the paint got here today. so ill be finished in a few hours

Tell that lady she has until saturday to get you that exhaust. If it's not bolted up to your car I'm going to set the Grey Hound bus station of fire.
