still awaiting reply to pm's and emails to purchase after 72 hours+. I wish DSM/Airflow logistics had a more accessable person to support their great product. It's frustrating when I have money that I'm willing to spend and nobody seems to want to take it (uhm) .
TenaciousB said:It does seem difficult to get response from DSMConvert, although he has described many times how busy he is, especially with the new shop and the increase demand for the AFC, FTC, etc....I too would also like to purchase one the the AFC's. But is seems like there is a very limited number of them at the moment, I think the last group buy had ten units for sale (I could be wrong, just going by what I thought I read awhile ago)...but they were gone in a matter of hours probably due to the hight demand....so it probably means those of us still wanting one will have to wait.....
On the other hand, could you just purchase a split sec PSC1-001 and load the maps yourself? All you need is a pc and a specific serial cable if I recall. I'm not sure if that is the only mods to the PSC1 that DSMconvert does. But spiltsec sells the PSC1 for $265 according to their website, and a serial cable is only a few bucks. Their site has instructions on how to program the unit, it doesn't seem to hard. The hard part is the tuning of the maps to suit the vehicle, as what DSMconvert has been doing, this takes time, and can be a delicate process, since you can screw your motor up if you don't know what your doing. Thats why I would want to by one from him, to help support his business and his willingness to help tune our cars. He will resurface eventually........................I'm hoping.........

From what I have heard on the Lancer/EVO forums, is the Split Second software costs A LOT of money and they only deal with vendors who have a reputation. Which is why you really can't just buy the box and the software. RRM (which operates a lot like MAM) has a piggyback unit for the NA Lancer and Stage 2 Lancer and there has been much discussion about alternatives (emanage and SAFC barely work before the ECU learns around the maps). Split Seconds boxes seem to work the best, but at a premium of demand and $$.TenaciousB said:On the other hand, could you just purchase a split sec PSC1-001 and load the maps yourself?
