i've decided that i'm going to buy a 4x4 truck for the winter and take the msp off the road. i'm going to do a set of custom CCW's...i figure thats really the only way to get the perfect fitment for our cars.

CCW classics in 16x8 with a 2.5" lip?!?! i'll be doing mine with white centers :-)

^^thats going to look bad ass. Spending 2k for wheels is always a win. Im trying to get some bbs rs 17x8 tho. I think 17s look better on 4drs.

Also, the pic u posted. I dont think thats a 2.5in lip. Maybe 2" in the rear and 1" in the front.

justin you wont be getting a 2.5" lip on CCWs with an 8" wheel.. trust me..

ive been talking with Dan from CCW for quite some time now and am trying to find the most lip possibility and what size it will be in.. im also shooting for the classics, but might have to settle with the LM20s (which are also dead sexy) to get the look im going for.

here's a quote from one of our emails he sent back and forth

One thing that doesn't always work out is we can build several wheels with the same width and offset. Main differences of them would be the pad thickness on the backside of the center; this is what determines brake clearance. Too small of a pad will hit the brakes and too thick you'll loose lip. I can work with you on this as well but you will have more lip going with LM20's as the center section is completely different and will allow for more lip and better caliper clearance. At best a 17x9 +38 would have a 2" lip and 9 times out of 10 would hit any vehicles front brakes. So you'd more than likely have to go with 17x+9 +38 with a medium center which would have a 1.5" lip.

Oh ur right. My bad Justin. Get them asap bro.

So you know what offset of those wheels would be? Im guessing +15 o +20.

at least +20. my buddy has 25s on his civic si and it was close to that aggressive but not quite as much...

Are the fenders rolled? Any issues? You think 215-40-17 tires will clear with that wheels spec?

I have 215/40 on a 7.5 wide wheel, +45 offset. Fenders needed a roll in the rear but plenty of room up front (I have a wagon so we have less room in the rear). You should be able to pull off an 8" wide wheel with 215/40, +35. Depending on how low you go will determine how much roll/pull your fenders will need.

This is still one of my favorite threads. It's motivational.

Bump for good content.

damn Im gonna need tires soon but cant find a 17x8 +48 to +50 (235/40/17) I wanna run. CR Kai look nice with concave face but no concave until 9 inch wide.
