That means you'll be running rich from 16-19psi if your tuning for 20. Plus running that rich at idle is going to make your car a dog. You'll be in the 10s at idle I'm sure. I know you may be lean now but 280s are tiny compared to 565s

used to have 450cc DSM injectors, nothing has changed since i swapped back to stock in terms of idle. im not saying its going to work, im just sayin wtf why not try, i mean thats what leads ingenuity in the first place, no?

also, not saying im going to run 20 psi, probably 18 at most, but the second it takes to go from 16psi to 18psi really shouldnt make that much of a difference

so i just put in an order for a new ssafc and was wondering if some people can give me some advice on the install and running the item itself.. what to expect, if its a real big deal if i dont have a wideband af gauge yet. i will be getting one but onlt had the cash for the afc.

my mods are the fallowing
high flow cat with full exhaust
weapon r short ram intake
front mount with hard pipes and relocated maf
turbo xs bov
aftermarket plug wires
turbo xs dual stage boost controller that doesnt seem to work or i am a newb, but i turn it up and nothing happens, so...
car seems to run at 7-8 psi

anyone know how the pre loaded maps that come with the unit are?

thanks for the help, hoping the unit gets het by the end of next week.

well as far as I know the reputable sources all come pre-loaded with the supermap, and it's fine for now, but I really really wouldn't touch anything till you get a wideband, your playing with fire if you do.. the install is really really easy as long as you follow the instructions that should come with it, or they are on here somewhere in the how to: section, but other than that, it's all pretty easy, just take your time and read the How to thread carefully, it has all the info and more that you need for that

About a week ago I installed 440cc injectors in my car, and I am having a really hard time tuning. Inconsistent, bogs down. Even if i set output B to 2 psi, unless I tune vacuum it will bog down and stutter. All the maps posted here are way to rich. at 10 psi I am at 7.7 and it is still ~ 10.5:1 afr!

might be something like a exhaust leak possibly, check for any sounds while accelerating, or maybe something wrong with the MAF sensor, but it sounds more like something wrong towards the exhaust end or something like that.. not really sure, my brother had 440cc RC racing injectors in which I'm pretty sure are a little bigger than normal 440cc injectors, which doesn't really make sense but the fitment was really strange and the car did the same thing and just bogged down really bad, so I just put the stock injectors back in, I was tired of dealing with them, and I assume your car was running fine before you installed the injectors?

I wish the AFC had some sort of LED on it to let you know it's actually powered and working. I just installed mine. The car turns on. My AFR is reading 10 lol, on my AFR gauge. CEL thrown. Almost stalling. I bought it off a guy on the forum here. So who knows what it's tuned to. Well I should, if I could talk to the damn unit. I got the DB-9 to USB adaptor. Drivers installed. Tried every port and it won't connect. I may try another computer tomorrow. When I installed the SSAFC I used connectors on it so I could quickly disconnect it and put it back to stock. Which I did tonight because I need to drive to work tomorrow. Any way. Just wondering if you guys have any pointers on connecting to the ECU. I have windows XP, the R4 software. The usb dongul is about 8inches and I have a 3' DB-9 cable on there. BTW I used 5-pin XLR connectors and made an adaptor cable to connect the SSAFC to the ECU. Took me a long time but I did most of it work. I work with electronics so I got access to the parts and equipment.

i couldnt get it to work with a usb to serial cable, even after installing the drivers. i had to use a friends old computer with serial

when I tried using a long cable like that it didn't work, couldn't get enough power for the actual comp. to connect to the AFC, the stalling and stuff I don't know what it would be doing that, might not be set to the correct settings or something I don't really know, or not tuned correctly, but anyways, I wouldn't use anything really more than 1' for connection, the one I have is like a 6" DB-9 to USB adaptor cable made by Blenkin or something like that, and then I just have a random 3-4" DB-9 extension cable on there, but I noticed when I used anything more than that, it wouldn't connect no matter what I did, if that doesn't work,

check to see which port the cable is registered to, I forget how to do it, but basically the COM port I was trying to connect through was used by my internet port, and I had to switch my adapter cable to COM 1, instead of it being set to COM 3.. at least I think that was what was happening, I had to do it a couple years ago, but my main problem at first was having a cable that was too long, and the guy I talked to from Split Second suggested a smaller cable

wow that's weird, which adapter do you have? the SS tech guy was saying that the cable/outlet might not be getting enough power to connect to the ss afc, and I just know that when I put a smaller one on there, it worked, I have a really long and old DB-9 extension, is your a USB extension? maybe that makes a difference.. I dono, it just worked

has anyone tried hooking up one of there logging sections to the Knock sensor, or some where in the ignition to be able to log timing.

i have a feeling that im getting some knock and i want to be able to log the knock count. if anyone has any information please le me know.

put in a knock light. or better yet pick up a J&S

So just an update for those who remember. I was having all sorts of issues with the 440's and trying to tune in vaccuum. SO turns out that I dont even have to tune vaccuum. The reason I did initially was because I didnt reset the ECU when I put the injectors in. The car pulls the fuel beautifully throughout the vaccuum range, idle is awesome and everything. Only thing iffy is warm/ cold starts, but that will get better the more the ECU learns the setup. Ill start tuning in boost as soon as I get my new boost guage and maybe post up a map for those who are running a T3/T4 turbo

well that's good to know, makes me want to pick up some 440cc if the Perrin fuel rail GB ever happens, but I think the WRX ones fit stock fuel rail right?.. anyways, thanks for the update lol, small things can be tricky
