AFC-SplitSecond PSC1 Map Library

i was around 3-4k rpms and like 3psi maybe, ive been having a boost leak

and trust me, thats not dangerous at all compared to the 14-15's i was having in boost before lol

Don't just change the "overpressure"" without tuning for that change. Now that you clamped the O2 sensor earlier, you probably need to modify the fuel map now accordingly. If you set it to -1, you need to modify from -.5 and higher, instead of from 1.5psi. Not a huge deal but, you should modify your map to compensate for the new clamping point. Glad you're figuring it out. GL

Oh I thought it was just a typo or something, and I was just following the suggestions from the OP of this thread. So you think I should change it back until I tune it for my mods? I can do it right after work today.

It's not a huge deal, but if there was a bigger gap in your change, it would def be noticed. If the car is running fine at the point when you hit your overpressure setting , then just change it later.

Well I forgot to bring my netbook to work so I haven't fixed it yet, but I have noticed I'm still getting strange readings on the wideband. Sometimes it will jump to 10 as soon as I mash the pedal, but then leans out after a second to 11-12 and pulls nicely. Maybe that has to do with the overpressure? Since you said I'm telling the AFC to take over before I get to the part of the map that is actually tuned, that would make sense to me.

But I'm also getting weird vac readings as well. It's hard to know exactly what the vac is since I dropped my boost gauge when I was ripping it out of the package (LOL I know). It reads +1 psi when the car is off so I just remember that when I'm monitoring it. When I start the car cold, and sometimes hot I will get vac readings around -16 to -20, and usually after the car is warmed up and I've hit boost it will go around -22. I don't think I should be getting readings that far off if the gauge is only off by 1 tick mark. Thoughts? Should I start my own thread for every single problem my car has? lol.

You should trust the reading your SSAFC gives for vac. It will be very accurate. Having your car peg to AFR 10 before leaning is better than having it spike really lean sooo... Just remember what RPM and vac reading this happens at, and then go change your overpressure and tune for the condition you're seeing (pull fuel at boost onset).

Yea I feel safe knowing that it is running rich rather than lean. I'm going to have a professional technician take care of the actual tuning, I just wanted to load the preset map to get it running decently for now. In order to use the record feature on the R4 software, do I have to hook up the orange wires to my A/F gauge?

Don't be afraid to tune it man.... It took me a week of tinkering to get what I feel is a really nice tune. I work full time and go to school so, this is like 2 or 3 runs per day, small changes each time no more than .1 at a time. Cautious. If you have a "technician" do it, don't even bother unless you're on a dyno, or at least datalogging AFR. Either way, good luck with the tune.

So i have the v1 AFC on my msp. I have a turbolife FMIC, injen intake with the stock bpv, and a vibrant exhaust boosting around 8.5-9 psi. I live in Nor-Cal, it doesn't get freezing cold, right now it gets between 40-50 degrees.

The issue im having is that when i barely get on the gas, not even in boost, my wideband reads 10.0 sometimes ---. So im running really rich before i get into boost and the car doesn't run that well. Now if i go WOT its stays around 11.0 and feels pretty good. I've loaded both the superstockmap and fmicmap and get the same results. Can it just be the weather causing me to run so rich before i even boost?

For the superstock map the overpressure is set at 1.1. I believe it came set like that when i loaded it. I never changed it. I did have the MAM FMIC with the MAM SRI with a boostscience bpv and hks ssqv. I now have the turbolife FMIC, and i noticed the change after the swap. But at the same time this was around the weather change.

When out of boost is it always rich, or just some times ? Idle AFR's ? Any consistent pattern with the problem ? A bad front O2 sensor can make you run rich, but you'd likely have a CEL. I'd still confirm the settings.

you may want to work on your tune even in vac. if you know the conditions are going way rich you can start trimming it up. with your mods I'm sure the car isn't getting the fuel trims its aiming for.

@ hondaeat-r: Its not rich always out of boost, i noticed as soon as i pick up speed and hit 0hg the AFR goes to 10.0. At idle im around 16.9-17.0. When im cruising the AFR's is up and down depending if i let go or give a little on the gas pedal. But as soon as i hit 0 psi its at 10.0. I thought about the O2 but like you said i would have had a CEL.

My current settings:

PWM mode: pressure 0 to 30 psi/3 vdc fs
Output A mode: Aux Fuel pump with abortive start time
Output B mode: Over Pressure
Output C mode: Inj A and B over /latched
Over RPM: 6000
Over Pressure: 1.1
Over INJ %: 90
Fuel Pump start pressure PSI: -1
Fuel Pump run time: 3
Fuel Pump startup time: 120

@ wagonbacker9: How much you suggest i make my changes by? .1 up or down?

I appreciate the input fellas.

i have my output b at over pressure or rpm
and thats kinda high vac for idle, mine is at 22inHG at idle

and def go by .1 DOWN, the lower the number the less fuel there is, the higher the number the more fuel it adds

10 is way rich, my car sometimes goes to 10 when its cold, feels horrible cuz its just like a complete loss of power, im going to tune my car for 12's

My idle readings (16.9-17.0) are for my wide-band. My boost gauge reads 21-22 at idle. I'll try making those changes .1 down and see if that makes a difference. 10 is pretty rich, and its not even that cold here in Nor-Cal.

change your over pressure to -0.5psi or -1psi and tune from 0psi. if your on stock injectors a .3 value change in the map will change your AFR by about 1 i believe.
