AFC-SplitSecond PSC1 Map Library

It should be fine for emissions / smogging. The AFC won't affect your fuel delivery at idle, so as long as that's when they smog it (at idle), you should be good.

just got my AFR gauge hooked up, turns out whenever i drive, it likes to stay around the 14-15 range, which is not good at all
it bogged once and the numbers went down to 10.1, gotta do alot of adjustments thats for sure

14-15 is where you want it while cruising or very light throttle...but once you start boosting you want it around 11.5-12.5.

well it didnt change too much when i was in boost to be honest, at least i dont remember it changing

i have to hook my wideband to my SS just to make sure, it should be pretty easy now though
anybody ever tune in the vacuum range? i was just thinking about it and i think it would be pretty cool if you tuned the car to be at 14-15 whenever you were out of boost
IE: even deceleration, idle, and normal driving
i already tuned my idle, when at idle my WB reads 15 :D

Well I went shopping around to a bunch of local stores for a Serial to USB adapter cable but NOBODY had it. My car is acting strange...again. The WB readings are all over the damn place and I'm afraid to hit boost and break something. Idle seems normal at ~19-23 (I dropped my boost gauge so it is always off a little) and the WB reads about 14.6-14.3.

Something just doesn't feel right and there is no way that the AFC is controlling anything right now, since I finally loaded the software on my netbook to see what the default settings are, and the Over Pressure was set to 7 haha. If I understand it correctly, that means the AFC will not take over until you reach 7 psi...which is the max I should be running so it is pretty much disabled right now. I'm told we have a serial cable at work so hopefully I can hook it up at lunch and atleast load the correct settings.

serial to USB adapter can be found at best buy, thts where i got mine
it was like 40 freakin dollars and only 12" long, but i will be getting my moneys worth thats for sure

That's one of the places I went to, but they didn't have one at the Mechanicsburg store...only the Harrisburg store. I really didn't want to go to Harrisburg if I'm a little scared my car might break down.

im not sure how far that is away but if you stay out of boost theres not really any way you can break s*** is there?
i drove my car to advanced auto 20 mins away with a rough/stalling idle and oil leak so i think youll be fine lol

Um, weird...My SS-AFC acted up tonight on the way home from work too.... Wasn't adding fuel when it should OR as much as it should. By the end of the ride home it seemed back to normal, but I have to look tomorrow w/ the R4 software and see if something is wrong.

I don't know but it sounds to me like you didn't successfully load the map. Ok when you opened customer, selected supermap, did you guys connect to ecu selecting one of the COM's? If you didn't connect to ecu...you didn't load anything and wasted your time unfortunately.

Get back to us on this before we can help or just pm me and I'll walk you through it as best I can.

I've been tuning this thing all week, so it's loaded fine. I run the 450's, and with no tune it would be obvious. The tune was back to normal tonight, ran great today, and on the way home from work. Weird.

yea my car is running exceptionally smooth, which isnt really a good thing

boost used to come on hard as hell to 8.5psi but not it comes on smoothly to 4.5psi
not sure why but my AFR's are alot better, in the 12-13 range, so i may try to use the MBC to turn up the boost
if that doesnt work then i know i have a boost leak somewhere

Success!

Alright so I went home after work and printed off 2 guides from the Split Second website. With those guides plus all the paperwork that came in the box with the AFC I was armed and dangerous. Headed back to work, got everything situated, and read through all 5 packets of information on that b**** haha. There were very detailed instructions on how to set everything up and I followed it all step by step (if they said "clap your hands", you can be sure I would have done so). Basically I did the same thing that I did last night, which was just loading the Superstockmap. Only thing I noticed was in the settings, the overpressure was set to +1 instead of -1. Maybe that is how the Superstockmap has it set? I just changed it to -1 since that's what most people on here say they use. Not sure if that would have caused my issue but long story short if anybody is having a problem with a preset map, just browse the Split Second website for some guides and you will be golden.

Don't just change the "overpressure"" without tuning for that change. Now that you clamped the O2 sensor earlier, you probably need to modify the fuel map now accordingly. If you set it to -1, you need to modify from -.5 and higher, instead of from 1.5psi. Not a huge deal but, you should modify your map to compensate for the new clamping point. Glad you're figuring it out. GL

Please specify where you are running AFR's of 12-13. If you're in boost, and seeing 12-13 AFR, that is very very aggressive, borderline dangerous. If you are 12-13 AFR while just cruising in vacuum, that's too rich. At what psi and rpm range are you running a 12-13 AFR ?
