AFC-SplitSecond PSC1 Map Library

Guys - I am now getting into this AFC stuff more. So I m understanding what is happening and how the maps are working. But what about in Open loop? How do you adjust the map for WOT?

open loop is where you can really adjust the afc to control the air fuel mixture.

think of it this way:

closed loop : it's closed to tuning.

open loop: it's open to tuning.

in closed loop the ecu takes the o2 readings and tries to keep the mixture at stoich.

in open look the edu takes pre made maps from mazda and applies them taking into consideration MAF readings.

The AFC controls the MAF readings by either sending a higher or lower signal to the ecu, making it think that it's getting more (higher signal) or less (lower signal) air.

ecu sees less air = less fuel.

ecu sees more air= more fuel.

in closed loop this doesn't work because the ecu is taking the O2 sensor readings, soo lean = more fuel rich = less fuel.

in closed loop you can slightly adjust the settings but usually within a few runs the ecu learns around it. (short term / long term fuel banks)

the O2 clamp (output B ) clamps the o2 signal making the ecu see a lean condition which forces it into openloop where it takes the reading off the maf which you're controlling via the ssafc.

hope that helps.

Thanks Rooster. That was helpful!

..can you load it? what mods do you have?

Me? the map i was using for a while was Update 1 on the first post which i made good numbers with. I dynoed with that map and made 185hp/181tq at 6.5psi. And i think im using the map that was uploaded by lowpsi. I dont know how to upload it. But i can try this weekend.

As for mods, i dont have much really. Just fmic, intake, 2.4" cbe, ssafc.

i think thats the supermap, the same map we uploaded to my msp damian, you should still have it on your laptop.

he said it was a modded supermap.

that's what i'm gonna need.

mods for the car-vibrant exhaust, 626 mani, 1 step colder plugs, turbolife fmic, cia, bpv.

i keep throwing a ******* code and it's pissing me off. p0421. i can't figure it out.

is it a to lean/rich code? my car throws those all the time. I have given up on trying to not have a CEL.

So i finally got a laptop and was able to do some data logging.

I was looking at the map and AUX A is my wideband, but the values that it reads is not the same reading of the wideband. Is it maybe reading out in lamba or whatever that other type of A/F reading is? and is there a way to change it?

Also does the SSAFC actually read the % your injectors are running? In the graphs it says injector A and gives a %, just making sure that it reading it and not something else

im gonna try that one. just need to get the afc reinstalled first

lol yea the double sided tape gave out and it fell off the fooboard, and then i started getting 10.0 afrs at wot. so yea we gotta get together

i just checked i got the fmicmap uploaded. Its (thumb)

I'm going to have to try this map out since we have almost identical mods. Are you running higher than stock boost levels? I am still running the superstock map that came with it.

haha nice i was gonna ask what your afr's were at wot running the supermap. i had 11.6 running 6psi. i'm goin to try the fmic map next, will let you know how it is, we have pretty much identical mods

Yeah let me know. Any reason why you haven't bumped the boost up? It was an unreal difference going from 5.5 psi to 8-9psi.

i drive like a grandma 99% of the time and dont boost lol. i have a joe p mbc that im gonna slap on, ive just been lazy

I am the same way most of the time as well, you won't regret the mbc, it was like a completely different car when i turned the boost up.
