AEM dyno

Maybe if AEM compared the intakes with a FMIC then maybe the results would be better? I personally would rather have a SRI.

this is a lost cause. The best thing to do is buy an Injen CAI from nopionline.com for $212 and make a SRI and fabricate a custom heat shield. That's what I am going to do. I doubt any SRI would be cheaper than that.

the best thing to do is convince AEM to produce some SRIs like the one they have already designed, prototyped and tested.....continue with the list...

AEM won't produce a product just because 20-30 people want it. They hope to sell hundreds.

im pretty sure this list cant hurt, and im not gonna mickey mouse an intake together so........

ONWARD with the list..

Not everyone who owns an MSP is on this board, but I agree, especially now that the car is no longer being made and all.

I doubt AEM will sell 10 CAI's on the first day they're out. Everyone who really wants one already has the Ion or Injen. Looks like they could sell at least 11 SRI's on day 1, though.

There are a lot of CAI's competing for a SMALL market (a few thousand cars). A lot of those cars will be left stock, which makes the market even smaller. Especially when you're late to market.

I don't know anyone who would.

However it might be possible to get this SRS without a heatshield. I'll see if they can cost it again. More than likely its very close to the CAS without the heatshield.

As long as the short ram places the filter far enough towards the fender (maybe relocating the coolant overflow bottle), I'd sure be interested.

Does anyone have a guesstimate of the cost for something like this?

did you get my PM abuot the additoinal BOV flange in the hardpipe kit to eliminate the turkey?

And does AEM seriously think they can make more money selling CAI than selling SRIw/heatshield?

If you guys dont think there is a large enough market for SRI for the MSP i cannot imagine how you think there is a large enough market for a CAI?

Also, how is it that you can lose money by producing a small number of SRIs? You have already done the R&D and prototyping for it.

Care to share this info?

Oh yea, and I call dibs if you guys refuse to make a SRI and are willing to sell the prototype...

Let a FMIC do your cooling, not a CAI.

All things considered its the the path of the air rather than a CAS or a SRS that is making the most beneifit for the gains we made. You are getting rid of the rollercoaster that has many restrictions as well as the stock air box.

For a lesser price you should consider a CAS first as the best bang for your buck. IC upgrade would be at least $600?

Have you ever bought anything direct from AEM? Most likely not. You may however have purchased an AEM product from a warehouse or tuner shop. There is a reason for this distribution network.

Like I stated earlier both kits use similar parts. The SRS uses more hardware and has a heatshield = $$$.
