Regarding a freind,
He had basic mods, intake and bpv. he noticed something wrong with his turbo and took everything apart to figure out what was wrong with it. he found at the lip of the inlet tube a peice of metal, seemed like there was some grease on it, tarnished black. First thought it was the intake being loose or not working correctly. Took everything apart and put it back to stock, problem still existed. Took it the the dealership the next day and drop it off. First throught was a blown seal or something. Gets a call back and says that the Mazda REP has found him online at THIS FORUM talking about the situation and the mods he has. Warranty was denied from all work. Their main issue is that he had mods on his car but has yet to state specifically how the turbine got messed up. Service manager seems to say that for all he knows, debris/metal could have gone through the turbo blades and broke them. No way in hell this guy would throw nuts and bolts into his inlet pipe. So pretty much, he has to pay out of his pocket to get this fixed.
What should he do? Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act?
His main complaint is not at the dealership he took it to because they're doing more then they have to and bending over back to help him. They still haven't took apart the turbo yet and stating this information so i guess we'll have to wait for that. What would you do?
