Funny how one comment can piss you kids off without me saying absolutely nothing disrespectful to your cars. I owned a 07 Speed3 (...look at my name) until October, so here is the reason I'm still here.

It would be close, thats for sure. Both have almost identical gear ratios and they both put down basically the same at the wheels and the MS3 weighs 200 pounds less. In fact I would think the MS3 would actually pull on the STI.

My buddy and I did some pulls a little while back and while I was stock and he was running Cobbs stage 1, he barely pulled on me and only in the top end. Low end the MS3 always got a jump.

Your reasoning seems sound to me.

done this race with an 07 speed 3 and my 06 sti, and I pulled a good 2 cars from a 40 roll.

I love my little speed3!

wrxs are sure enough nice cars too, just couldn't afford one when I was in the market... plus I have automatic lights and automatic windshield wipers!!!

Only I said was doing 4.61mph 0-60mph then they started freaking out. I didnt bash the Speed3 or any user on here. The Speed3 is a fun car to drive.

heating wiper sensors?

is that how it knows to wipe the sweat from my forehead when I get warm inside the car???

no you guys dont. And I dont have the auto wipers on the Subie either.

as lazy or trivial as this sounds. I love the autowipers and lights. I do wish that we had the auto melting thing though. that would be fantastic!! i also wish my autolights would come on when the wipers go on.

The lights go on after the wipers have been on for a predetermined amount of time. I think it's like 2 minutes or something.

I only really use my auto wipers when it's drizzling outside. It's nice to not have to worry about turning them on and off as needed.

All of ya'll love the auto wipers and lights... I hate them.

The lights are good, but sometimes they turn on when I don't want them on (parking garages usually) and don't turn on when I want them to (drizzling or really overcast days).

And the autowipers i HATE! I liked being to control the interval the wipers turn on for. I'll admit, they are good when your on a road trip traveling through spots of rain; but when your driving around town in the rain, I fell they get annoying. Especially when I just rain-x my windshield and they go nuts when it's sprinkling.

I would have traded the money they put into the autowipers and lights for a nicer head unit with more then 1 line of information... or atleast one that can be easily replaced with aftermarket setups.

I leave my wipers off unless I am in patchy rain. I never feel like my car is dirty until I see lines from the wipers on the windshield. I hate that.

After owning 2 WRX's and a FXT I decided that I wouldn't own any other Subaru other than a STI. I never liked the feeling that my car was second rate and didn't have the best that Subaru offered. I tried to convince myself that the STI was just a WRX or Forester with a 6 speed and Brembos but if you've ever driven both a WRX and STI you'd know that they are two completely different beasts.

I considered the 08 STI but wanted to go direct injection and $11k less for the MS3 sounded pretty good considering the fit and finish clowns on what Subaru offers.

I do miss the AWD but my gas mileage is better and every other aspect of the the MS3 is batter than any Subaru I have ever driven. I'll probably go back someday but for now, the speed is for me.

Anyways, this has gone way off topic.

I really wouldn't read too much into the AP & DH performance tests - I'm fairly certain they're not at all accurate.

As for the WRX265, great 0-60 times for sure but it really has nothing else to offer that's above and beyond the MS3 to be honest. I hope they upgraded the interior on the 265 because when the new gen WRXs first came out, I was amazed at how a brand new car could have such a crappy interior. I also kinda feel sorry for the guys who bought the "regular" WRXs and in only a year of ownership, find out about the 265.

They are as accurate as the sensors in your car. when your ECU says you're going 60, it stops the test. if that's due to wheel spin, then it's inaccurate. If your speedo is off, it's inaccurate. Other than that, I'd say it's pretty accurate. The quarter mile test is most likely nowhere near accurate since it counts wheel spin as part of the distance you've traveled.
