I was fooling around the other day with my AP and logged a few 0-60 runs. The runs were made late at night on the way home from work on less than desirable road conditions. thats the only excuse I have.

I thought it would be interesting to see others' times and see the difference mods make and how those with similar mods vary, ie driver, launch, shifting techiniques. After my first time at the drag strip I need some major practice.

Why don't we format this like the 1/4 mile registry? List mods and then the AP 0-60 readouts, which include 60 foot, 330 foot and 60 mph. I think we can omit the 330 foot interval. Also provide a brief description of how you launched the car, shift points, etc.

Use these abbriviations for mods:
I = Intake
IN - 3in Turbo Inlet
DP = Downpipe
CBE = Cat Back Exhaust
MP = Midpipe
TBE = turbo back exhaust
CDFP = cam driven fuel pump upgrade
EMS = tuned
MBC = boost controller (specify spike and hold) ie: 18s15h
UI = Upgraded Intercooler
MM = upgraded motor mount
S = suspension such as springs coilover
T = turbo upgrade
W = Weight Reduction (spare and jack does not count)
DR = Drag Radials
SL = Slicks
AP STG1 = Accessport stage 1

Anyways heres my best run that night.

60' 2.46
60mph 6.34 sec
MM, S, AP STG1

I tried low rpm launches, ~2500 and tried to slowly roll on the throttle but got major wheelspin all the way through 1st and into 2nd.

How'd you guys do? Oh and post back with improved times.

Did mine with my Dashhawk but same thing

5.84 sec 0-60
I,BPV

I attached a pic for some proof (sorry for the crappy pic from my phone)

I try to do what I call a soft launch. Just enough to hear the tires squeal but not enough to burn them to oblivion.

I own a Dashhawk, but have never done a 0-60 run before. How does the DH start the test? Is it from when the tires begin moving or turning? Or, does the DH give you a countdown so you know when you start your run?

Damn, if that's legit reading, you must have been running slicks or something!

i remember someone posting a surprisingly quick 0-60 time a while back from an AP or DH or something, and what happened was when he posted a graph that showed his speed vs time, we realized that the reason the time was so quick was because he spun the tires going into third. that tricked it into thinking that he had hit the 60 mark because the wheels were spinning fast enough to do so, thus his 0-60 time was a good bit quicker on paper than it should have been. according to the chart, he managed to go from about 52 up to 60 in a tenth, which isn't remotely possible with an MS3.

long story short is the AP and DH are pretty cool for following your performance numbers, but just beware they're not always going to be spot on with stuff like this.

edit: thought you were talking about the 5.84s time posted, didn't even see the DH log pic posted below it.

I don't do these too often but I did one just the other day for fun...Had too much wheelspin in first at launch and had to let off the throttle and get back into it, but still pretty decent, for me at least.

motor mounts and good tires sure do help

That's what I thought as well, but then someone brought forth evidence that the speed is monitored at all four wheels, so wheelspin in the front wheels doesn't effect the speedometer.

However I will say that using different logging devices with vehicles in different conditions should only be used for entertainment purposes and in no way should be used as an ePeen measuring tool.

So your stock other than motor mounts and tires? Impressive numbers.

lol, well in that case, go eff yourself. We're talking MS3s, chief. (jerkit)

I'll have to try this DH 0-60 test myself and see what I get. I am curious.

thanks but no definitely not stock lol. The intake/inlet/fmic/turboback/AP/Meth probably helps a little too! biggest issue/challenge is the launch and traction

not an STI.

Its funny how the 09 wrx's are faster than the STi in 0-60mph. Anyone with an STI though will tell you, big f'ing deal. As soon as 60mph is achieved the STI will walk the WRX through th 1/4 mile and any other speed passed that. Its the glass 5 speed only that allows for the faster 0-60mph in the WRX. It hits 60mph in 2nd gear and makes for pretty quick times. Both the MS3 and STI need to shift into 3rd to hit 60mph.

After owning 2 WRX's in the past, I'll never buy anything other than an STI, if/when I go back to Subaru.

Anyways, I digress. To reiterate the point of the thread, this is for those with MS3's who can log their 0-60 times.

07Speedfreak, if want to play bragging rights lets log some off the roll times and see what turns up.........;)

I feel a little better now, lol. What kind of #'s are you making?

I did 5.41 with an CAI, MM. Make sure the speed correction on the dashhwak is correct, I messed with it before and I was able to get an incredible 0-60 time on 3.2, Impresive i know lol. 60 mph in 1st gear.(smash)
