About the Mazdaspeed forum

You're entitled to your own opinion, but I think this idea is the best for the board as a WHOLE. The mods have to decide what is best for everyone (not an easy decision), and right now, having MSP people post in the correct forums will make things much easier to work with.

If, in the future, the other sections get overloaded, I'm sure the admins & mods will create separate subsections for each car.

Ah yes the voice of the pinko, remember it's the "party's" rights over the rights of the individual. Life by commitee what a concept

I dont care to venture outside the MSP section. I own an MSP and I dont need to know about other Proteges. I dont have time to be reading through alot of possibly unrelated threads to find the one about the MSP. If I cant find what I want in the MSP section then it does not exist. Sorry but thats just how I feel.

uhm, you dont need to read about other proteges...

if you have ever looked there is 'performance' and 'appearance' threads.

...the cleaning continues.

The thing is, nearly all of the time I'm never leftist. But I still think that this change is for the best.

Look, this is going to take some getting used to for everyone involved. But like I said before, just please give it a chance. It's a common reaction to rebel against change. After a couple of weeks trying things this way, if it's clear that it's not working, then petition the mods to bring back the old ways.

I'm not saying that this plan will work, because honestly I don't know. In theory it should, but we all know that good theory doesn't always transform into good practice. If it's not working, I have no problem asking the mods to change things back.

Not a change for the better

I'm with goonsquad, tex, MazdaDryvr and others who don't like the idea of the MSP section having posts moved to other areas. I like having all the MSP stuff in the MSP area.

Here are two things I don't understand,

1) Matthew arguably gripes the most about people posting in the wrong area, right? Well hell, why is he even bothering to read those posts? Then he spends time pissing and moaning about the post being in the wrong area! I've rarely ever seen him post informative information, so in essence, he is adding to the clutter.
And why does he even piss and moan about the MSP section when he drives a P5? I wouldn't even bother going into the P5 section, let alone b**** about something someone posted in there.

2) pdhaudio is swinging the heavy moderator hand and moving posts "HE " deems unworthy to be in the MSP section. He drives an MP3!

You guys see a trend here? I say, conspiracy!! :)

According to jersey_emt, (a staunch supporter of the change) the MSP section should be a place for MSP people to chat. Cool, does that mean non-MSP people have to stay out? :)

Yes, yes, there are some sore non-MSP owning cooches in here.
Perhaps a douche followed by some kind of ointment is order for the mods...

Rename MAZDASPEED Protege' section to...

The MSP Feather Pillow Section....

You know, all fluff, no content...

look people, as i've said before, i can't babysit the forum all day, just after work and at lunch, so someone else has to move things for us during the day...while pdhaudio may have moved somethings that don't need to be, other topics should and will be moved where they belong.

regardless of who owns what, we are all contributors to any and all problems on this forum. and YES, some things,(intakes, stock sub, etc) questions should remain in msp section...but general questions (fmic, bov, etc) will go where they belong.

any other problems, feel free to pm myself, enry, kat, or antoine.

Yea the logic behind this is somewhat flawed. I really really think the msp section should have subcatagories. Not just lumped into general ones.

I think you guys might be making this a bigger deal than it really is. Also, unless you can give some constructive criticism or positive contribution, please respect the people who are actually doing something to try to improve things, and don't post just to say it's a crap idea, and that we're doing a crap job and that this is a crap forum. Thank you for understanding.

i'm just curious, say i want to make a thread about upping my boost on my msp. now this will give me more performance, but it is also a forced induction issue. so which section would a post like this go? the n/a people who visit the performance section will have no idea, but it could definitely go in that section. also many of the forced induction people who don't have an msp wouldn't know from experience or anything since their turbo stuff is mostly custom and they have lots of other issues, so they couldn't really answer. now which section would it go in?

i'm just pointing out there are flaws with the current system, granted every system has flaws and it's not up to me to fix them so i'll be perfectly happy with whatever, just pointing out some obvious issues.

I agree the system is not perfect. One thread could easily cover two forums. Personally, my stance is to only move threads that are totally not specific to the msp. If someone talks about wiring a new head unit into the car, then that's really not specific...
If you want to replace the MSP BOV with something else, then it could probably go here.
Increasing your MSP Boost would probably stay in the MSP section.

Would suggest we rename to MSP/MP3/ES/P5 and be done with it - subcategorize off of that. Use www.VWVortex.com as an example - group by platform, not sub-model.

ARTHUR: We're all Protegeans and I am your king.
WOMAN: I didn't know we had a king. I thought we were an autonomous collective.
DENNIS: You're fooling yourself. We're living in a dictatorship. A self-perpetuating autocracy in which the working classes--
WOMAN: Oh there you go, bringing class into it again.

I for one, have never said or implied this is a crap forum. I just think pdhaudio is being a little quick to move threads. I really like the way the board was.....

So what if there are 3 concurrent threads on how to hook up a boost gauge, or how to wire up your gauge lights.

Looking at those kinds of posts is a small price to pay in order to not have to wade through posts on how to shave roof racks and put fog lights on an ES. It's nice to having all things MSP in one section. Hence the name "MAZDASPEED Protege'".

I like that idea. I think a good example is when the STi forum was closed on Nasioc

There is really only one logical solution...subcategorize within the MSP forum. There are way too many models of Mazdas here to clump into one big forum. Yes, Protege's are similar in some ways, but most people will ultimately post or read something that actually says their car's model.
