A question for the Expert MSP Conversion??

Ok guys here is the scoop. I'm doing a conversion for a customer here in Panama, and I want to make sure that I order the right parts from the dealer, I have spent a good time reading here all the treads about it, but to double check never hurts.

The deal is, this is a Protege LX 2003 and the customer wants to make it like the MPS 2003, but he doesn't want to use the Wings West Kit, therefore, since I have an account with the Mazda dealer in Miami, there with not be a problem in ordering the parts.

Please check the pic of the car and let me know exactly whick part # do I need to order from the dealer.

I already have the sides. that was an easy one but I dont know if the rear skirt is attached to the rear bumper of if is an add on.


I was going to order the accessory for the rear skirt but it is on a National back order status in the states. That 's why the customer told me that he will not mind if I order the rear bumper as long as it does come with the Skirt.

Is the rear mps bumper a 1 or 2 pieces??

If i remember correctly the rear is two pieces, just a seperate bottom piece. I saw some pics a while back and the MSP's were sitting at the port and they didnt have them on yet, or the exhaust on some of them. The front is one piece for the MP3 and the MSP, they are the same. The 03.5 year model MSP they changed the front skirt a little, I think they added a little lip on the front kind of the way they did on the back. Thats about all i know though.

Thanks man, I already saw the 2003.5 but I kind a like better the 2003 because the feder flare of the front fenders ends right there to the end of the front lip, and It does give the car a look like the German DTM cars.

Have you approached the dealer for availability of 2003.5 body parts?

not yet, I am trying to get my stupid car payment straight right now with mazda american credit. They are trying to screw me by saying I had insufficient funds in my accout for my feb payment and its bs I had over 850 in my account for a 300 car note. Tell me how that works. I even sent them documents from the bank showing that the account had plenty in it, and they kept saying we have to get a copy of the returned check from the bank. The bank never received the check, and therefore the check doesnt exist at the bank to get a copy, needless to say the check never made it to the bank and they are just trying to screw me, its not gonna work. I will however eventually make it to the dealer about the 03.5 parts because I am in love with that front end. I think I will keep my fogs though. just put the lip on there with the fogs still in it. as for part #s sorry i cant help. Wish i had a connection with the local mazda dealership. But anyway if i get the PN on the 03, or 03.5 stuff i will shoot it your way, and if you get the pn on the 03.5 stuff lemme know.

are you doing appearances only? cuz the turbo as of now is not available for seperate purchase and i dont believe ever will be.

As for body parts you can find a junk yard with a p5 to get the front end (although in tact front ends may be scarce in a junk yard) and a wrecked mp3 or one that someone has modified may have a extra rear skirt laying around. Try posting a message in the for sale forum saying what parts you are looking for.

My customer is not insterested on performance, just body parts, and he wants me to get OEM new parts from the dealer, that's why I need the part # from Mazda.
