99 Protege wheel size

alright I want to buy some wheels and tires for my 99 Protege. Do 17" wheels fit on it. I put my dads 17's up next to it and it doesn't look like there is enough room in the wheel well. Will a 17" wheel with 205/40wr 17" tire fit?

17" rims will fit dude. I am running 17 x 7 rims with +40 offset and they fit just fine. I also have 205/40/17 tires. This set-up will also work lowered as well. The main thing to consider with rims is to get the proper offset. For the Protege sedan +40 is basically minimum.......+42mm would be even better. This is assuming however that you will be lowering your car.

i am runnng 17 by 8s.. if i remember right, might be 17 x 7.5

were running 205/40R17 on my wifes mazda and the car is also lowered 1.4" in the front and 1.8" in the rear and everything fits fine and no rubbing at all if you want you can go as big as 215/35/18 with no problems but 17's look good eoungh
