626 firing problem

Hello I am new to the forum. I recently purchased a 1996 mazda 626 that had a blown head gasket. My intent was to repair the engine and fix the car up for my son to drive to school.l Everything went well at first. BTW, the engine is a 2.5 v6. Other than the engine compartment beng very very cramped, I managed to replaced both head gaskets with minimal problems...I ran the car for about two weeks--it was running great but I was trying to work out a knock sensor code(cut wire on sensor) and a MAP sensor code...swapped it out with used on from bone yard. One day I cranked it up and it started to miss on the front left cylinder...I pulled the spark plug wire and no change in running...I replaced all the spark plugs and wires, cap and rotor when i did the head gaskets. The car runs fine, does not overheat, engine light does flash after runnin a short time, meaning major misfire, but other than the obvious miss, everything is good. I have rechecked my spark to the plug, check compression on all three front cylinders and they are the same, and even drilled a small hole in the intake port going to this cylinder and sprayed starting fluid into it while it was running and I cannot get that cylinder to fire...I am stumped and would appreciate any help anyone can offer...!!! Thank you in advance...

an x of mine had one, same engine, misfire and loss of power. it was the distributor. it had a hairline fracture and that was all it was. Replaced with a brand new one, and away she went, literally, she dropped me after i fixed her car.
