505 Intake Manifold COMPLETED!

I think it will have more of a benefit based on how much boost you run, moreso then the size of the turbo. So this would be more of a high boost mod. But everyone could see good to dramatic gains.

Larger turbo's would benefit much more than the stock/smaller ones. More airflow @ any given "psi" would make a heck of a difference if they were less restricted (through this mani instead of stock/626 ones).

I wouldnt' say it would be exponentially better, but larger turbos would definately benefit, probably following a 2nd order D.E. curve.

Without commenting on the welds shown, I look forward to the welds on this manifold. I am always stuck welding dirty, oil-filled cast aluminum to make intake manifolds, using new stock would be so nice.
Good on you for doing this. I was going to give it a shot, but I think you are doing just fine and doubt very much there is any need for two of these.
The mazdaspeed community is really getting some nice parts as of late.(cool)

This guy's got the right idea here. Think of it this way, a smaller (or stock) turbo at lower boost will see x amount of max power gain. As boost is raised, or a bigger turbo is used, the max power gain will be higher. This will still give max power gains on a smaller setup, but the higher boost and bigger turbo guys are going to see even more power out of it.

Just as an example, the DSM intake manifold from Magnus provides roughly a 30whp gain at 350whp over the stock manifold, but it makes close to a 50whp gain at 700whp. It's all about airflow, and the more you throw at it, the bigger gain you will see compared to the stocker.

Indeed, it's going to be a really nice piece. :)

Here is a tiny new years sneak peek for you guys. Snapped this last week with my new phone to test it out. Notice how thick the flange is. (omg)

It is going to warp a little from the welding, and then it will be machined down, so it is ultra burly right now.

Have a safe and happy new years everyone, 2008 is going to be a good one!

good move, cant wait to see the result

headwork will play a factor as well. you can put freeflowing mani on there but if the head cant keep up it will be a bottleneck.

on a stock head, the gains will diminish at some point. its still going to be a huge improvement over stock. cant wait

eh 505 my friend Chris is Pinos cousin(owner of magnus), he even worked with him a bit.

useless fact of the day...

I will be hand selecting the people who get the first 5 manifolds. If anyone gives me any grief about this stage of the process, they will be blacklisted from ever getting one. (I'm not screwing around here, if anyone bitches about pricing, or about how long it's taking, or thinks they can make it better/cheaper/etc, instant blacklist). I have seen this crap happen way too often around here, and I will not put up with it like everyone else seems to. I just want to make this very clear, I am not in this to make a killing. I am doing this to get a badass part made for people who DESERVE it. The second I feel that someone is no longer deserving, I am refusing that persons business and they can look elsewhere for a manifold. Not singling anyone out here, this is just a general statement.

I'll send you a PM with a few names that are a PITA to watch out for.
