It seems like the R34 has ran it's course and it seems like Nissan is replacing it w/ the 350.I really can't confirm this but if you on www.jgtc.net. one of the articles shows a pic of a wide-bodied and slammed 350Z.It's got the drivers of the current Nismo drivers standing next to it and it does mention GT500.What do you guys think of this news???

Uhh...I'm talking about in Japanese GT racing, buddy! This is the Racing/Motorsports forum. This is for those who don't watch ******' lame gayass(puke)NASCAR.

Werd. LOOK AT ME!! I can make a left turn!

Sadly, Nascar is a Racing/Motorsport. But thanks for bringing that up out of no where....

Yeah the story is the R34's replacement will be based off of what we know as the 350Z/G35 platform. I was pretty bummed at first but I'm getting used to the idea now. I suppose every model has a major change at least once in its life. Hell, look at the Evo. I'm gonna miss that boxy body though. The good news is that most sources agree the Skyline will finally be coming to the U.S. market. Now let's just see how much they detune it. If I'm not mistaken it will be sold as an Infinity here though.

No!!It's going to be under Nissan but it won't be called the Skyline. The official name they said it'll be called will be the Nissan GT-R

It's going to be wierd seeing Nissan's new weapon against the Supra and the NSX GTs.I am not sure it'll hold it's own against the V8 Supra but it have a battle w/ it's fellow N/A V6-the NSX.

the Infinity G35 Coupe is the Sky Line for the US...:(
Really? Damn. I thought there was yet a more performance oriented version (i.e. turbo) still yet to come that would actually carry the Skyline moniker. Grrr. Sux. Don't get me wrong I love the G35 and the 350Z is growing on me, but I don't look at either one and think "Yeah, this is a rightful aire to the thrown."

They are not going to phase out the skyline. The only thing that is skyline-ish is the body that is it. Everything else is gutted. They use Nismo Motors and suspension. As for the 350z. I saw it getting tested last year and it did great. however, that was only the gt300 class. But skyline is oging to stay. As for Skyline not coming to the us, check out www.skylinegtr.com. OH ya JGTC is coming to the US next year too.. Can't wait to see my boy #71 kick some ass.

G35 is the Skyline GT verions
Skyline GTR R-35 is not out yet
Still wating to see the Skyline GTR r-35 which will be used in the Gt500 class

It does not matter if it is a V8 or V12... GT-500 class only allows 500 hps and 500 NM of torque.

As for balancing the field, the NSX must carry a 10kg weight over the AWD Skyline. Where the supra is allowed to -10 kg from the total car weight to make up for the RWD.

also alot of the gt-r in jgtc are converted rwd anyway...some sported vq35 engines also......the skyline will not pahse out in jgtc, the 350z is just contending with it.......also the new gtr comin here doesnt have a def engine platform yet...most likely a v6 tt setup but v8 hasnt been ruled out....either way it WILL have around 400hp and compete with the likes of c6/m3/911 IMO......also the new nsx is either gonna have a v8 or a hybrid v6 with a electric "supercharger"....ill go with the lather since honda is gonho on emissions performance

If the Skylines aren't being replaced, then how come the I see Richard Lyons(one of the two drivers who raced the Motul Pitwork GT-R) standing right in front of the 350?? (The white guy not wearing a hat)

Just got confirmation from my friend who drives the #71 sigma tec celica, that skyline are going to stay. However r-35 verison comes out in 2 years. He said that the skyline is going to make the GT500 unfair because of the 0 lift and .27 drag coefficent. That means no spoilers for R-35s.

Ok,that's cool and all but can your friend explain the pic w/ Richard Lyons in front of the 350Z???

ya the 350z and the Pitwork gtr are owned by the same company. both are tuned by Nismo. The pic was from a nismo photo shot

the r-35 will be based on the current Z33 platform, and will be available as the Skyline GT-R globally. this includes the US. rumor has it that it will be a variant of the 5.6L endurance V8, but there are also people inside nissan speaking of an F/I VQ variant. we'll just have to wait and see.
