3" SS S-pipe Replacement!!!

The other day on here i saw a thread about how an sr20det dp would fit our cars. i went looking and stuff and found the one made by ssautochrome on ebay. thought it had pretty good workmanship and what not so i thought why not give it a try and ask him if he takes part requests and stuff. now ill spare you guys the details but i appealed to his wallet with the fact that no one makes an affordable replacement for the s-pipe and theres a big market out there for it. im pretty sure 80% of you people on here would want one yes? anyway, i got a response from him that simply stated "OK- we can do that. Just need the cast or oem pipe." I about flipped. only problem is im using my s-pipe at the moment so would anyone out there be willing to donate theres to new part research? like those individuals lucky enough to have an ion exhaust? im not sure if youll get it back, i wouldnt see why not, but just so you know. Just PM me and lemme know. now i dont know anything else then what ive put here because ive only got that small email back from him. im trying to get him to call me but since its the weekend i probably wont hear back from him till monday or tuesday. also, i probably wont respond till sometime monday morning because im going out of town for the weekend. ill try to get back to everyone.

I'd really like to, but I cannot justify leaving my car in pieces while waiting for the part to get finished... especially with the way vendors promise us parts then don't deliver, or abandon projects all-together. Keep trying though, it'd be possible if these guys were willing to work fast and give me one for free.

What about test fit and such?
 
********** is working with Perrin to develop a S-pipe and S-pipe/J-pipe combo. He is really serious about getting it done quick so it should be available within a month or so. He just has to get some time where a hurricane isn't hitting his homeland.
 
I wrote SS many times about a manifold and a dp. I helped them working with another party in developing v6 headers for the 03 Tiburon. I have not had the same luck so far with our application.

Thing that I'm pressing is that with a new mani, that brings the turbo up a bit, and correct the canter the DP would take a whole new straighter shape. Just look at their ss combination for the Silvia, now imagine instead of the SR20DE bolt pattern, the FS. Simple as that. Would be basically same DP, with the same mani w/T2528 foot plate as what they already produce for the Silvia. Our GT25 would mount right up. And get this both the manifold and dp that they offer for the Silvia are just $199. It would take just a little bit more R&D to get this done. Peopled lose their freekin minds round here, if we had this option for 200 bucks.

I think that is the only way that we will get more options for bigger downpipes. That is, unless people are will to cut off the hook mount on the bottom of the A/C. The thing that you have to remember with moving the turbo any is that the intake pipe and the IC pipe need to line up, too. That's why I am thinking that I might get it all done at the same time (FMIC, IC, DP, manifold). I'm really not sure how much play you can get out of that stuff, or how much play you would need.

Yea it doesnt help when we have another hurricane gonna hit us next weekend as well (bang)
 
Im still waiting for streetunits dp to come out it will definetly be worth the wait.
 
Man, I want that s-pipe so bad... I wish I could spare mine, but it's the only one I got(s-pipe, and car)

BTW, the downpipes they have available are very nice looking. See my post with pic.

I wonder if they would be willing to do a j-pipe too? I''m thinking s-pipe, j-pipe, corksport exhaust.. BAM. I think that would be my ideal setup.

Calling all ION exhaust owners, plz donate your stock s-pipe...
 
I was about to get a friend of mine to fabricate a new 'S'-pipe if no one was going to jump on this quick.

We're going to have to rename it to DP instead of 'S'-pipe, because after they're done with it, its not going to look like an 'S' anymore.

Awesome! Keep us up on that. Even if something else comes through, it would be nice to have options.
