Im the dork that had 2 mazda 3's in my driveway at one time.

Tomorrow, marks a new level of dorkiness in thanks to two things.

The 1st reason I will own 2 mazda5's tomorrow is the coming of a second child (boy) on march 5th 2008. I really started thinking if my dad would have gotten an rx8 or kept a not so safe back seat mazda3 or swallowed his pride and got something safe even though I wont be transporting them as much as
the wife.

Reason number 2,
My local evil dealer marked a 16k 2006 mazda5 sport with 22k miles down to 12900. Its black (sorry not another pink one perfecto) which scares me to death for keeping it clean, but at 12900, I wasnt going to argue.

I am now the dork king, someone send me a sweater vest.

ps, in 2008, those electro illuminescent guages and led tail lights are SOOOO mine.

Just like running shoes, the model changes every year. If you like a particular model, better stock up on them before they disappear in the market.

My wife is worried about that too. Shes wants to drive this thing forever, I was thinking about vacuum sealing one up in the garage, but I dont have a million dollars to do that. I dont think the US sales are too good for this car for them to be selling used ones for cheaper than a cheaper base price mazda3. Heck, I cant even get a mazda3S hatchback for anywhere near this price (except for an occasional one with 90k miles)

I guess the good side is that my patented lunch break naps will be alot more comfy.

Well you got it on september 13th, but since youre in hawaii I think i still got it first because of the time difference (2 months).

just kidding. Im kinda happy I wasnt the 1st one to do it. Went from a 3i lease to a buying payment on a 5 for 14 bucks more a month.

Its black, and its cleaner today than it will ever be, so I guess I had better take pics :-)

it's a dork show-down lol

i think if you look at all the dork vans (another thread, forget the name of it) i've owned in the past i should be allowed in your club.

Congrats eh

Just think how many kids you can have and secondly how many kids you can drive at once.

LOL

Enjoy.

Woulda taken some pics today but its friggin dark when i leave for work and dark when I get home from work. I hate winter for this reason.

2 kids with side air bag protection, thats really what made me trade up. I was seriously debating another 3 hatch or an rx8, but then i asked myself....what would my dad do.

Got the 5 :-)

hey mods you mind deleting the 4 year old's post? (and this one afterwards)

Thanks,

Ok, I drive to work, its dark, I go home, its dark. When am I going to post some pics? I finally ended up taking pics with my phone at work just for proof that I have 2 :-)

I thought so, so I couldnt pass it up. My 04 3s HB has a better resale value than the 5. Bad for the 5 seller, good for the 5 buyer. BUT, I think if the 5 catches on the resale can go back up, but then again, I think most of the folks with 5s are gonna drive them into hell\heaven with them.

I plan to buy an 08 but I'm in no hurry. I'll probably just wait until next year at this time and buy a used one. Based on the used 2007 prices I've seen on AutoTrader, I should be able to pick up a Touring with 15-20k miles for around $16,500.

Im sure your patience will pay off...Unless the USA figures out its as big as a durango, half the price, and double the gas mileage...but they wont, too many of us americans are wasteful idiots.

Mazda10 is born

If I had my way, I'd have a Mazda5 and a MazdaSpeed3 in the garage. But it's really not practical with 3 kids. (boom05)

I had a 3HB and always drempt of the mazdaspeed3. But with even 2 kids and a stroller (using carseats still) you are already cramped. When the kids are in kicking reach of your seat=bad. :-)

Damn kids.

Agree. I know is so freakin' silly to have 2 MZ5s but I'm very tempted as well as soon I'll have to trade my other car (silly)

For our case, it fits family needs very well (wife and I have to share kid's chores a lot) and NO other car matches the functionality/versatility/Manual Tranny!/decent looks and great compact/midsize handling, serious (yeah, I know is not a MazdaSpeed, but hey, I want to stay "comfortably" married :D)

Oh, and don't forget the dork idea of taking some pics of both cars side by side and post them under the Appearance section (laugh)

I will, but right now mine is covered in salt and hers is in snow :-)

Pretty sad I cant even have time for a couple good pics. Thank God for internet at work.
