2nd mazda5

My wife would love it if I traded the T&C in for a MZSpeed3 or MZ5. LOL(bowdown)

True, But what about the kids? It is illegal to give them away (even 1 or 2). Once you have them, you gotta keep them at least until the age of 18 ;)

Like cars, kids are worth much more if you part them out.

A kidney can bring in 200k easy.

....

..
Just kidding. please do not sell your kids. Or any parts of them either for a ms3.

I referred to the fact that his wife would have to give one or 2 kids away to fit in the MazdaSpeed3 (with groceries), but not to sell them in parts (lol). Oh man, I'm still laughing, good one!

I have joined fam (freak). I have 2 Mazda5s now. Love the thing. Good deal, including a decent trade for my old Honda. I wanted to trade my car sometime next year, but found a 2008 5MT with the Popular Package so changed some plans.

I'll miss the fogs on this one, but the TPMS, the bumper step, the new gauges and the auto A/C (including the rear vents) are welcome :D

As for the rest, same dang thing ;)

If you are around the area, John Kennedy Mazda, Pottstown PA. Good guys to deal with (and they know how to drive stick :D)

Nice! Heard my brother and sister-in-law are awaiting delivery of a suitable 08 Touring.

So, that's what the non-LED tail lights look like - thanks. Fogs will set you back a couple hundred bucks and an hour :)

Cool! let's keep those sales up :D

As per mine, freaky huh? Now wife got started with the jokes (flame)... she says that I envied her ride so I bought the same thing, that hers is nicer, that the wheels..., the typical "Oh, look, a Mazda5", (blah)... yet she saw the blue one during the day and really likes the color, the extra armrests and the aux input (boom08). I don't mind driving the other one (please read: "I won't have a choice, but to switch soon" (lol2))

Taillights are OK, but still like the 06s-07s better. If I had a choice it would have gone like this: 1st: 07 black bezel (Grand Touring), 2nd: 06-07 gray bezel (Sport, Touring), 3rd: 08 LEDs (Touring, Grand Touring), 4th: 08 Sport ones

I'll see next year what is in the market for the tails and the fogs. For now... hmmm, I'll have to wait $$$ ;)

What about the freak silver '06 tail lights that mine (and many others) came with?

Yup, my 06 has those (I call them gray bezel) and, believe it or not, I like them better than the 08 Sport ones (don't ask why, possibly the carbon gray - gray bezel combination looks nice? dunno). Oh, and the front light bezels on the 08 Sport are now all chromed, but that is not that noticeable I think...

There were two of us driving Mz5's in formation on the Capital Beltway this am, 2 lanes apart - the other was Carbon Gray. Freak silver tail lights, x2.

congrats cool mazda. Take a pic of those guages at night\on so I can see what they look like in the dark...im curious if its anywhere as cools as my old mazda3 S hatchback.

Wish mine was an 08 :-)....minus the tail lights, the new ones will probably take some time for me to adapt to....but i will come around.

Congratulation on your Mazda5, so cool to have 2 in the household.........(cool)

Thanks guys. My only concern that has popped up (I'm already over with the dork stigma :D) is a major recall that could affect both, then we will need to find how to work out the time(s) at the dealer (boom06).

I'll take some pics of the gauges fam, no probs. They look very similar day-n-night and when the car is switched off you see nada. Now, I doubt they will look as cool. I drove a Mazda3 Grand Touring sometime ago and their red background and the 270 degree gauge angle looks (sick) (2thumbs).

Taillights, yeah, same thing, they may take sometime to grow on me, especially as I see the 06 ones every night when parked next to it :(

Still the only one with sliding rear doors! (Take that, Rondo!) Too bad the 6 will no longer be available in the wagon version. The wagons were making a comeback, but now they are a dying breed again. Only the 5 left...

Ewww, A Rondo... (blarf) ;)

Wagons as a dying breed is true to some degree, but I think (*think*) that the wagons are coming back in different shapes, like i.e. what the Mazda5, Opel Zafira, VW Touran, Kia Rondo, etc. are sometimes called in Europe and Asia: space wagons. Unfortunately in the US (and maybe Canada) the minivan stigma is so strong that as soon as somebody sees sliding doors classifies it as a minivan. Problem comes when the apples-to-apples comparison does not work i.e. Mazda5 against a Honda Odyssey (too small, no space for groceries, it only seats 6, (blah)). Just ask some of the guys in the forum who also own a Minivan, there is no one to one comparison

Now, when I bought my 06 I also looked at the Mazda6 Wagon. Really nice car (and I would have been able to get a 5MT), but not as versatile as the Mazda5. You seem to own both, any impressions?

BTW, these old articles may have more info:

Here you go. Sorry, but needed the flash for the 2nd one, otherwise looks like crap. It should give an idea. Also, Blue Swede posted his dials pics.

Day or Night, car is switched off:

Day or Night, car is switched on (regardless of having the lights on or off. When the lights are on there is a little green indicator. Now, this still confuses the hell out of me because when I see the gauges lighted up I think the lights are already on (doughpoke, and is not the case at all times):
