i have two deales offering MS3s...one for 25.5k ALL three of them in the inventory are GT...non seems to have the Sport...the other one is offering it at 24.5k.

Do you think that if i hassle a bit on the price i can get it down? has anyone done this?

I havent fully paid my car, so there's still 2600 i would have to pay plus my trade in...will they add that to my monthly pay? i heard that if they really wanna sell the car, the might even void it. And my reason to this is because i cant pay that much for my current MS6 (510), so its not like i got money to go roll with...

any advice?

this is what i do once i know what i want.
let each one know your looking at both deals. let them compete for your business. too many sales people have the attitude that they are doing you a favor by selling you a car. truth is, your in charge, tell them you want to know there best price- no games, valid for the rest of the day then go with the cheapest. dont listen if they say they give you a special deal but you have to sign now cos thats b/s.
sales guy needs his money from your sale, simple as that.

good luck

It can't hurt to haggle price. I went through 4 or 5 dealers trying for the best price. Two of the dealers told me outright they could/would not match the price I was quoted by another dealer. Saved me some money, I left the lot with my Speed3 GT paying less than MSRP.

I would go to the higher dealers, let them know your best offer, and see if they will beat it. Sometimes you can hit up a better deal, or match it. Then you go back to your lower dealer with the best offer, and let them know that you have "another dealer closer, better color," what ever, for the same or better offer.

You can do this with several dealers easy over the phone, and sometimes it takes talking to the sales manager, but in the end, an hour spent on the phone can yield savings of hundreds, if not thousands.

Don't trade the MS6 YOU WILL LOSE YOUR ASS. Also with all the incentives on 06 models still in stock (theres 2 06 MS6's near me) The 06 MS6 will not have good trade in value.

If you can get them to PAYOFF the trade then do the deal, but my recomendation is you stick with a MS3 Sport and save yourself self money.

To be honest unless you just can't afford the payments your better off hanging on to the MS6 for a while. But if the payments are killing you then rememebr next time to NOT buy a car outside your means.

with the MS3s and the closness of the other dealers, I highly doubt they dont know what else is out there and what the other dealerships are offering... so the plan to haggle each dealer down might not work (for the speed 3 anyway) according to plan.

also, advice for anyone - unless you have NO other bills (even still I wouldnt recommend it most of the time), never buy a car that you cant pay the monthly payment in one weeks pay. IE, you get 1k/month. dont buy a car over 250 a month.

and 4banger is right... get the trade looked @ first - and fight for payoff. But just remember that payoff does NOT equate to how much the vehicle is actually worth, so dont be offended/suprised if they cant get you payoff for your vehicle. they arent going to pay your vehicle off @ 22k if it wont even sell for 18k on the used lot. Think about it this way, would you buy a vehicle worth 22k for 26k? Same basic concept...

Good luck!

Yes, I know what you mean, when i traded in my mazda3i they gave me 13k for it, so i didnt had to pay anything for down. Yes, they pay you less of what your car is worth so they can make a profit when they sell it...basic business. I did an online check on how much my car is worth and it said 23.9k...how much you think they will give me for it?

I can still pay this car, i just dont think paying 510 is worth it...i figure i could still get the MS3 which is pretty much the same for less and I would have an extra 100 every month, but i was doing hte math and i dont think it might work

heres why...if they give me less of what the car is worth, it would be...say...18k-21k..then i would have to pay the the difference of the car of what it was originally worth (with my payments substracted, so far i have paid 1.5k on the car, the rest was interests)..which is like 6.5k-4.5k...so if you divide that by a monthly fee of a period of 3 years, it would be 152.7 (assuming an average of 5.5k due) bucks added to the car payment...leaving me on top of the amount i pay for the MS6.

please correct me if im wrong...bleh.

I just hope they are desperate, im gonna still try and see what they will give me..i took my m3i to carmax to an appraisal and they said 12k, so i had an idea of what it was worth when i took it to mazda...they wanted to give me 11k for it but i showed them carmax's appraisal, and told them i was going to go somewhere else to do business and get my money's worth, so then he said he would give me 12k and i said i didnt wanted to pay no downpayment...so after talking, he decided to push the car's appraisal to 13k for a 0 downpayment and a secure deal as i promised. and thats how it went. Mofos kept my aftermarket rims though! they didnt want the stocks...so now i got a pair of 16 wheels laying on my garage that i wish i could fit on my bike...(yawn)

Alot of companies are partnered with a car manufacturer...i.e. I work for Fujicolor Processing Inc. which is under the umbrella of Fuji Film. They are partnered with Ford and GM. We get a discount on all models that Ford has a stake in...Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar etc. The discount for Mazda is getting the car at the invoice price plus whatever incentives are available at the time. I am looking to buy a new car soon and it's between the GTI and MS3. Having access to this discount certainly helps make up my mind.

So are you rubbing it in or??? LOL j/k dude

Yes you will pay more for the MS3 than the Ms6 , partially due to depreciation, and the SALES TAX/TTL fees and warranties(if you bought one)

You know another way of dropping the payments is to talk to your bank and make the payemnts for 72 months. THEN pay the added principal, when you can. Just a thought. I took my car on a 72 month note, jst to keep payments down, but i am paying more. In about a year though i'll doing a job transition and will need my payments to be low in order to make it by for a short time. Just looking ahead, besides i kept my last car for 7 years.

That discount does not apply to the Mazdaspeed3 at present, or I'd have done it. I just ordered a CB GT with nothing but the homelink mirror (why the hell would I finance wheel locks or window etching ect..). 24800 was what I agreed on and oddly enough that's exactly what edmunds said others are paying.

If you are having a tough time making payments, maybe the MS3 isn't for you. I don't want to sound like a dick, but it may not be a sound idea to overextend yourself just because you want something faster. What's wrong with a regular Mazda3 hatch? You still get a sporty ride, more available features, and still a beautiful car. When you are in a better financial situation, you can consider getting something nicer.

I just don't like to see anyone end up in financial ruin because of a material object. If you are unhappy making payments, you'll never be happy with the car in the end. That's the feeling I get from your decision to trade in the MS6. I hope you make the right decision. Good luck.

No, its not a monthly burden...this is recently that I had problems with the real estate market that came to a stop on november for me and I havent selled anything since...im burning my money and just recently had to get another side job that pays great, but overall i can pay the car and rest...and I have just exactly what i need for extra stuff, although i just came to realize the MS3 is the same thing for less, and I saw one just recently and liked the interior a lot and said to myself "hey, if it is the same, and makes me equally happy...for less money, i could get it, plus im starting from 0 again with an even newer car again..." and it sounded cool, thats why i came to the conclusion....its one of those things you purposely and sometimes unconsciously psyke yourself so you can have an excuse to do it...and my excuse is that i could use an extra 100 bucks for booze and candy :D

I like mazda 3s...but i had one before the MS6, im a car enthusiast...and I thought the Speeds were great...going back to the mazda3 is like rewinding again...its a good car, but it would be a boring feeling to go back to it, if you get what i mean....to me, buying a car is about getting something new, different, fast...and upgrading...so after this, i'll get something better, etc...IF i can lol. Dont you worry, im not one of those guys that blows his money of stupid s*** and goes bankrupt, i can handle the car...

It was on the website, I have print out if it. Same revision and effective date as the rest of the listing. Shows the S-Plan price and the MSRP. S-Plan price...$22404-GT, $20804-Sport, before destination.

I just checked the fordpartner.com site and it isn't available on there. Just the regular 3.

Yeah I checked it last night. I made the print out about two months ago. For some reason it's not there. Whether it is on there or not, if you have a pin generated you should still be able to get it at the S-plan price. I would think that if there any exceptions that they would list it somewhere.

I had asked the dealerships about it too. No Xplan-Splan or what ever they call it on this car... Yet. Hopefully that'll change by the time mine comes in.

From what I've heard, Mazda sent out a notice that they were not offering S-plan on any MS3's. It is up to the dealership to decide whether they want to give you that price, but I believe I have only seen one person on another forum able to get S-plan pricing. I would check with your dealer to make sure, that way you know what price you can expect. Good luck, hope you do get it, it would be a sweet deal!
