2017 New Tires CrossContact LX25

These tires seem to be pretty popular. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on these, any reason I should not? I live in the south, snow is not an issue, mostly we want a quiet, smooth ride. I will be ordering the p225/55r/19 on a 2017. Thanks!

I don't use the LX25s, but they have gotten nothing but praise here at Mazdas 247. Seems like the tire of choice when not dealing with winter weather.

Those are the tires that I would’ve chosen if not for our daily mountain drive coupled with northern AL climate (frequent flooding rains/occasional snow). I chose the Michelin Cross Climate 2, but the LX25s were a darn close second.

I'm happy with LX25's. Far superior to the stock Toyo's. You won't give up anything ... Every thing is mo-better 😁

I went with DDW06 plus with my new wheel and tire combo and haven’t driven on a better set of tires ever. Nothing but praise for conti’s

Heard good things as well, and they're on my short list for my next set, probably some time later this year. The other tire on my list is the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3, tested here against the Michelin CrossClimate2.
Keep in mind the Pro is only rated at 400 treadwear. The Pirelli does VERY awesome and has an 800 treadwear rating. All 3 seem to trade blows in the normal weather testing with the Pro edging the other two out, but at the price of only 400 treadwear vs 640 and 800 for the others. However, when the snow and ice test results are viewed, the CC2's slaughter the other two, which are fairly even. The CC2 stop on ice for example is shorter by over 3x the difference between the Pro and Pirelli.

For me, I'd go CC2 based on the cold weather performance and higher treadwear. I love how the CC2 cuts through standing water due to tread design, and how the tires do not have radial grooves which can tramline on some pavement, as well as provide less than optimal acceleration in loose substrate like snow/dirt/sand/etc. My driveway is what I have in mind here, lol!
