2017 CX-5 now featured on Mazda USA site

Navigation is pretty much useless, if I get AA or Apple joople on my car - never will use the nav, so will most folks.

I'm a little tired of this, too. "So will most folks". No, dude, most folks are HAPPY.
Someone has to say it: THE NAV IS GOOD! WTH? Why is it bad? Because it doesn't have LIVE traffic which is exactly only one of 2 reasons I have heard the Nav is bad. The other being that it is hard to search for stuff that is between you and your destination. Like: Starbucks. You can search near you and near your destination but not really in between. Really? This makes it SUCK?
Personally I don't know why cars even come with navi anymore. I've wondered this for years now that we have phones. And no... I don't need a 7 inch screen in my dash, navi or AA, to show me where I am going. Having said that: I find the in car Navi, quite frankly EXCELLENT. I do NOT get the "hate" for this.
It shows you the speed limit on the road you are on. LOVE. Cannot believe Google doesn't. It shows you what it coming up at every freeway exit. LOVE and frankly took a lot of stress out of a recent trip in the sticks where we desperately needed gas and didnt have to screw around looking for "GAS THIS EXIT" signs as it was RIGHT THERE.

How is it "useless" Kaps? I cannot believe "useless" is how you choose to describe it.

It even tells you when there are red-light cameras present. That caught me by surprise.

Didn't know that as RLC's were shut down where I live after the people put it on the ballot calling it nothing more then a money grab.

The current navigation is just clumsy to use. Like in the middle of driving, try finding something. Try and find a Taco bell. Its about impossible. With my phone and google, I just say "ok google, navigate me to a taco bell" and it does.

If its free - fine, if you have to pay 400 or so it is useless. I have a thing called smartphone. It does not even come close. Yes it might be useful in Big Bend or if I go in the middle of nowhere.
But in city - where this car is at home - its not worth any dollar.
Its the same as saying DSLRs are amazing, but a good cellphone just means the DSLR relegated to certain types of users or occasions. 99% of the time - the cellphone camera wins over a DSLR just like a google app wins over an inbuilt Nav.

Cant believe honda wants 1000 for this feature.

Only way this Navi is good is if you take 5-7 road trips every month in unknown territories. When you dont care about traffice etc. In 8K miles of driving i have used this navi maybe 20 times, my google far more.

Clumsy, I'll give you. Useless? Ridiculous.

The speed limit aspect of the navigation is just about the main feature I enjoy. It is very accurate and even does many small roads. My previous Elantra I had to pay $5 a month just to see highway and big roads speed. No small roads.

Are you saying this is a good feature? Not sure what to make of your comment.

Red light/speed cameras are basically automated red light/speed traps. It takes your picture and sends you your ticket in the mail.
I assume Banjos is saying that Nav shows you where they are on the map.

I just hit the Speak button on the steering wheel and say "Drive to Taco Bell".

So for instance one can't have both SBS (or other i-ACTIVSENSE safety features) AND Navigation System at the same time? How ridiculous, it's a major step backward.
Actually we see both Touring Preferred Equipment Package and i-ActivSense Package are having duplicate features such as Rain-sensing Wipers、Auto-dimming Rearview Mirror with HomeLink、Automatic On/off Headlights. This definitely means you can't have both! 2017 Touring Preferred Equipment Package is like old Touring Moonroof/Bose Package ($1,130) AND Technology Package ($1,275) combined PLUS Power liftgate、One-touch Open Moonroof、and a Sub-woofer for merely $780! You can't get any features from i-ActivSense from 2016.5 Touring but you can choose it now with great price for only $625 comparing to $1,500 for previous year!

For 2016.5 CX-5 Touring, base MSRP is $25,215 on FWD; $26,515 on AWD.

Moonroof/Bose Package (Power sliding-glass moonroof、Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System with AudioPilot、9 Speakers) is $1,130.

Touring Technology Package (Auto On/Off LED Headlights、LED Foglights、LED Rear Combination Lights、LED Daytime Running Lights、Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) w/Auto Leveling、Rain-Sensing Wipers、Smart City Brake Support、Auto Dim Mirror w/Homelink) is $1,275.

For 2017 CX-5 Touring, base MSRP is $25,915 on FWD; $27,215 on AWD. It's $700 increase.

Touring Preferred Equipment Package (Auto-dimming Rearview Mirror with HomeLink、Automatic On/off Headlights、Rain-sensing Variable-intermittent Windshield Wipers、Bose 10-Speaker Audio Sound System with Centerpoint and AudioPilot Mazda Navigation System、Power Sliding-glass Moonroof with One-touch Open Feature and Interior Sunshade、Power Rear Liftgate) is $780.

Touring i-ActivSense Package (High Beam Control、Lane Departure Warning with Lane-keep Assist、Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go、Smart Brake Support、Auto-dimming Rearview Mirror with HomeLink、Automatic On/off Headlights、Rain-sensing Variable-intermittent Windshield Wipers) is $625.

For 2016.5 CX-5 Grand Touring, base MSRP is $28,570 on FWD; $29,870 on AWD.

Grand Touring Technology Package (Smart City Brake Support、LED Headlights with Auto Leveling、Adaptive Front-lighting System、LED Fog Lights、LED Daytime Running Lights、LED Combination Tail Lights、and Auto-dimming Mirror with HomeLink) is $1,155.

i-ActivSense Package (Mazda Radar Cruise Control8 with Close Proximity Warning、Distance Recognition Support System、Smart Brake Support with Collision Warning、Lane Departure Warning System、and High Beam Control) is $1,500.

For 2017 CX-5 Grand Touring, base MSRP is $29,395 on FWD; $30,695 on AWD. It's $820 increase.

Grand Touring Premium Package (2-position Memory Driver’s Seat、6-way Power Adjustable Passenger Seat、Active Driving Display with Traffic Sign Recognition、Heated Rear Seats、Heated Steering Wheel、Windshield Wiper De-icer) is $1,830.

For 2016.5 Soul Red Metallic is $300 and Crystal White Pearl Mica is $200. Destination Fee is $900.

For 2017 Soul Red Crystal is $595、Machine Gray Metallic is $300、and Snowflake White Pearl Mica is $200. Destination Fee is $940.

So whoever wants 2017 CX-5 Touring should also get Preferred Equipment Package because that's a steal! And my earlier questioning to this unbelievable low prices on Touring Packages from press kit was wrong!

Does that work?? I'll be honest, I haven't tried in forever because my S7E is just so reliable with google maps.

I'll be honest too.

It is not always as accurate as I would like, but the voice command system is pretty cool. If you say "Tutorial", it will explain to you what the voice command system wants to hear from you.

Here is a funny video of an Audi system failure...

Correct. On my trip to Virginia I heard a weird noise, glanced over at the Nav screen and realized I was in an area where those cameras were in use. I think I was in PA at the time. While I wasn't using the Nav system for directions, I was using it to keep an eye on where I was at, along with helping make future turns/exits a bit more predictable. The audible warning and screen icon was a nice reminder to pay closer attention to me speed.

Ok, no manual is now 100%. Was 99.9% before this...

Talk about a price bump, base model is like 4k more, yikes. And you have to pay extra for certain colors?! I don't like that...
No, there's still some hope - try to sneak one in from Canada ... :)

The GT Premium package seems a bit pricey to me for what you get. I agree the Touring with Preferred package sounds like the sweet spot in the lineup.

Still annoyed you need to go GT just to get heated side mirrors.

Yeah I generally try to remember to turn on audible alerts when traveling. I pretty much know where red light cameras are around me. But when I'm traveling, it is a nice reminder.

Ok, I take my criticism of the navi back, I will adjust my driving to gunning for it when I see yellow even though 50% of the time I might be jumping red. Also will start doing 10 over city speed limits as my normal speed to appreciate / use this feature.
Will report back on how it works.

Now eagerly waiting for the body bags accessories in 2018 CX-5.
