- 2016 CX-5
Hello! I've got my eyeballs on a 2016 CX-5 Touring at my local dealer. I've done two test drives and I'm satisfied with the car overall. Couple of things that I forgot to check out though that I don't think warrant another run to the dealer when I can maybe get my questions answered here. Searched the forum, but could not really find specific answers to these:
1) I've read that it takes a while for an iPod/USB stick to become available when you start up the car if you have a lot of music (I do). I noticed this during my second test drive when I brought my iPod along, the salesman and I were both puzzled about why the iPod wasn't showing up. She actually ran inside to get another salesman (she was new), and by the time she got back, it was available. My question is -- does this only occur when you plug it in after having it unplugged, as in does it read the current index and store it until it detects the iPod has been removed? And was there a firmware update that fixed this, even a little?
2) When you choose shuffle as the playback method for your iPod or USB drive, does that choice stick after you turn the car off? My current Hyundai and previous BMW, you had to select shuffle ... every ... time ... and it was annoying.
3) Has there been any word on whether or not Android Auto will make it to the CX-5?
That's all I can think of right now. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger, just want to be 100% sure before I do. My only real gripe is the Bose stereo -- sounds very distant and not very full, kind of like someone just stuck a jambox in the car, which is kind of a jolt after living with the Infinity system in my Genesis Coupe.
