Potential Mazda CX-5
Hello, I'm a potential CX-5 owner waiting (hoping) to have the stereo head unit issues resolved before making a purchase. Can any 2015 CX-5 owners comment on whether they are experiencing the same problems with resuming playback off of a USB stick or phone?

Thanks!

Nothing has changed. The problem is still there with no credible indication that it will be resolved any time soon.

Sorry for the bad news. Other than that issue, the car is fantastic, IMHO.

I've always used USB for playback (never a ipod) and have not have these resuming issues.. My stick has 7+ gb of music on it and it works fine.

That's because you have the early car.

I find the none resume very annoying so rarely use the USB.

I find the MP3 disc player is a better option, or Bluetooth from the mobile, then there's always the radio.

To let this issue carry over to a new production year shows how little Mazda cares about customer complaints.

Its a good sign for 2014 owners that the 2015 hasn't gotten the Mazda3 infotainment upgrade yet. That increases the odds that Mazda will fix the current infotainment and perhaps offer a firmware upgrade for 2014 owners. If they are concentrating on adding Mazda3 infotainment in near future, then development of a fix is unlikely.

Its clear that Mazda does rolling changes throughout the year so I am sure they are working on the problem.

The problem with the iPod is on the new Lightning connector or also on the old 30-pin?

Cheers.
It has nothing to do with the cable/cable type. It has to do with the original head units (like Chris's) had the USB connect directly to the head unit and everything after that, the USB goes through the bluetooth module and then to the headunit (this is all behind the front dash.) That bluetooth module has a bizarre logistic that screws up the resume functions and reports seem to say the fix cannot be done in software alone but that module would have to be replaced (coming from Mazda AUS/NZ info.)

Whether Mazda would do it or not remains to be seen. I'm sure the module only costs a dollar or two to Mazda.
