Haven't heard of any performance parts that are out of development yet. Looking for a cold air intake, ECU upgrade and cat back exhaust without much fabricating. Anyone know of what's out there yet?

Cheap Plug for my mom's business. (cheers2)

You can likely expect these items to be available first (domestically) from Corksport. Check out their webpage and sign up for newletters for developments.

Otherise, shop the foreign market for AutoExe items.

So, I looked into an exhaust. My guy at Power Muffler said a 1 to 2 Magnaflo used for a Camaro would be perfect. Flange back, $395 with my existing tips. New elbows have to be made. He did duals on my Silverado but my hesitation is the fear of boging down the motor. Should I wait for an exhaust that has research behind it that will help with gains?

Outside of the muffler Mazda has done a good job with the exhaust. The new 6 has a true 4-2-1 header that leads to a nice 3 mandrel bent pipe. I plan on throwing a pair of Magnaflow 14210's in place of the stock muffler.

I agree that the best option at this time would likely be only changing the mufflers. Though, hopefully in regards to the exhaust manifold, nobody is screwing with the exhaust that far upstream.

Keep the exhaust diameter, or close to it (after the y split), with a good, high flowing muffler. This shouldn't result in changing enough flow dynamics to shift your torque curve much. Instead, you'll mostly get that exhaust sound you're looking for. If you know a good muffler shop/welder, I'd say take a stab at it. Nearly any aftermarket option, once available, will be a cat-back and will likely cost considerably more. They will likely be a larger diameter as well, which will increase drone considerably, and possibly create that "bog", or shift the torque curve higher into the RPM band, like you said you wanted to avoid.

Who typically does the ECU upgrades, Corksport? I know it's too early for that, BUT this car has been around the Japanese scene for a couple years, so development should be further along than a completely virgin car. I'd definetly go for the added HP and Torque, my uphill acceleration leaves something to be desired...

Corksport does not offer any tuning support for any platform, to the best of my knowledge. It takes considerable resources to do so, at least for a legitimate option (no ebay junk).
I don't believe the 2.3l S-G has been on the market for two years in any country. In fact, not even for a year yet in any market. If it is anything like the first and second gen non-Mazdaspeed MZ6, don't expect too much aftermarket support in that regard, especially USDM.
