2009 Cadillac CTS-V

my dad has a cts, not a v though. I have always loved them and they are a great value for what you are getting I believe. I respect why some people don't like them but for me they are worth it.

The new CTS is one of the few interiors where I can say American car company finally got it right! Its actually got a nice interior - still room for improvement but night and day from the usual interiors

3.6L DI V6 VVT with 304 hp and automatic...i know he knows how to drive stick, so i dunno why he didn't get it (maybe the don't offer it)...but he does a lot of traffic driving and he wife drives too.

Just think, if you think that car has good acceleration and handling what the V will be like.(humpleg)

The 2009 Cadillac CTS-V is set to hit showrooms this autumn, and GM has decided to release the first promotional video for this performance sedan. This car competes against the German performance sedans such as BMW M5, Mercedes E63 AMG, and Audi RS6 by packing a 6.2 liter super-charged V8 that produces over 550 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. Sounds very impressive, but we have never seen it in action until now.

The two-minute video boasts some of the best virtues of the CTS-V such as the Gen-6 Eaton Supercharger, Brembo 6-piston brakes, dual-mode Magnetic Ride Control, Tremec 6-speed auto or 6-speed manual transmission, and many more.

Featuring an Americanized bass-heavy soundtrack, we get to see some good exterior perspectives of the car with plenty of hot driving scenes. On the whole, GMs marketing team has done a relatively convincing job this time around.

Supercharge Me: Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

DETROIT The Cadillac CTS Coupe concept at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show was so well received, enthusiast tongues wagged immediately about the possibility of a 2010 CTS Coupe production car. The next logical step? Supercharging the striking new coupe to the same specifications as the 2009 CTS V-Series sedan.

Cadillac has already said the coupe will easily accommodate the current CTS engines as well as the 2.9-liter diesel V6 intended for use in Europe, so dropping in the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 from the CTS-V sedan shouldn't be much of a stretch.

The CTS-V sedan gets a unique hood to cover the bigger engine, so expect to see a similar change if the CTS-V Coupe gets the go-ahead. It's also likely to lose the single, large grille for two distinctive mesh-covered grilles instead. With production of the standard CTS Coupe scheduled to begin next spring, the V-Series CTS Coupe probably wouldn't show up until the fall of 2009 at the earliest.

Cadillac CTS-V Blisters the Ring in Under 8 Minutes

he Cadillac CTS-V is getting ready for launch and what better way to demonstrate the performance than to break the Nurburgring lap record for a production sedan. GM announced a time of 7 minutes and 59 seconds was achieved this morning by an unmodified model, confirmation of the record run will be released in the coming days with a video of the entire run. The Nurburgring run is part of the intensive testing in the final stages of development before the CTS-V goes on sale this fall. We are still yet to get full specifications for the new model, but we told the full SAE power ratings, acceleration specifications and U.S.-market pricing will be released in the coming weeks.

Now all that remains is to find out if one of GM's other high performance model - the Corvette ZR1 which is powered by the same 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 engine can beat this time by over 30 seconds to surpass the time of the GT-R which the Corvette engineers have claimed. Judging by recent a spotting of the ZR1 near the famous German race track, it surely won't be long before we find out.

sub 8 min run on "The Ring" from a Cadi Sedan? Holy crap!! I'm impressed!!

It will defiantly be a competitor for the BMW M line and some AMG's but I dont think GM can pull off the quality. Sharing the same engine with the new ZR1 Corvette minus the titanium internals they are still looking about 550hp, it should be plenty quick. I think it was Edmunds that had a write up of this around the time of the Detroit Auto Show but this is the first I've heard about it since.
