- 2007 CX7 - Biggest Mistake EVER!!
My 2007 CX7 hesitates and the dealer checked the codes, concluding the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. They wanted $390.00 - for the job.
I presented him with a TSB stating a faulty oxygen sensor was a known issue but to no avail. He stated my car was out of warranty at 47,000 miles.
Has anyone had good luck with dealers replacing under warranty after 36,000 miles? It was a hard pill to swallow because the car never ran right and every time I brought it in, something wrong was found in 6,000 mile gaps (when I take it in for oil change).
Has anyone replaced the oxygen sensors on their own before? I am comfortable with some tasks but want to find out from others' experiences before I make the commitment.
What is the best way to reset the warning lights after the oxygen sensor is replaced? Some say just three 20-minute, non-stop driving cycle will clear it while others say unplugging the battery for extended of time. Some say I'd have to take it to the dealer....
Any input is appreciated it - I need all the help I can get with the "would-be" lemon CX-7.
thanks in advance,
Jim
