2006 Mazda 3?

I was just wondering if the communtiy would know when we can expect the 2006 Mazda 3? As per my other thread, I am disappointed with the 2005 3's control panel. I'm crossing my fingers they change it in 2006, but I know that might not happen. Thanks!

Look for '06 Mazda3 to reach dealership lots around October timeframe.

I have no idea where you are (please add your location to your profile), but the chances of automatic-climate control being available are very slim for the US and basically none for Canada.

If the Mazda3 would of had automatic climate control, I would not have bought it. Every car I've even owned with it gave me trouble, and was expensive to repair. My .02

Thanks for the information. I am from Canada, and I guess it's more the quality of the dials than the climate control. It's a super small detail and other than that I love the car. But for some reason, the current set-up available in Canada kills me! I have no idea why. I'll just have to hope that one of the changes they make in 06 are the type of dials.

i wanted to buy a 3 until two days ago i test drove one, it feels alot like the new focus and it wasn't as quick as other cars its compare'd to(such as: the new lancer). But i loved the interior, i think my mom would love a car like that.

ewww lancer. whats funny is that our lcd screens (referring to us models) are setup for climate control.

What exactly is the issue with them? Do you not like the location? do you not like the way the position indicator clicks between the settings? is the big twist from cold to hot too long? Or is it just not as pretty as the autoclimate?

They're big plastic knobs... The autoclimate was big plastic knobs too, only with more buttons. I think the only tiny cars in the states available with autoclimate are expensive german imports and luxury lines. I wouldn't expect that to change in 2006.

That's because we share our screens with the mazda6 and the rx-8, and because autoclimate is available in the 3 outside the US and canada. Otherwise, you have to get it in the mazda6s or the rx-8

The center stack is also my biggest reservation about the 3, It's a bit gimmicky with the red lights and not nearly as clean as the 6's. I also hate that Canada gets shafted in regards to side and curtain airbags and H.I.D's. 2 important safety features.

i just don't understand why other countries get climate control but the USA doesn't. thats almost as dumb as knowing that ford puts out all the nice models of their cars in europe.

Because it's understandable for a 3 or a 3-sized car to cost 25,000 in europe...

Here, people will just go "if I wanted to spend 25,000 on a Mazda, I would have gotten a 6!"... and they do.

I feel that the only car companies that can get away with including an autofantabulous climate system on the teeny cars are the ones bent on over-charging for the euro luxery feel: BMW(Mini), Volkswagon, Lexus, Infinity, Acura. Even then, it's still an option.

In the states, people just go ahead and upsize since really, they don't have nearly the same pressure to keep a car small. (remember, here gas may be soaring to $2.30 a gallon, but in europe it's around $8 a gallon. )

Also, the ford "nice" cars are the five hundred and explorer. They figure if you are going for an econobox in america, you'll want it to be damned cheap.

ford does make the focus rs over in europe. we don't get that model. i have no idea why an american company would sell its nicer model cars in europe. i blame emissions requirements.
