Hello,

I would like to buy some aftermarket performance headers for my protege but don't know which brand to buy, which would fit, or what type if header is the best, can I get some suggestions and where to find this part?

This is one purchased from ebay and if I remember correct it was $70-$80usd. It was labeled as a KSpeed or something like that. My opinion it is an OBX knock off because it is exactly the same looking. I have had it on for 2 years now and it has not given me any issues at all. Mounted up just fine, came with gaskets needed. Only issue I had was on the right side of the picture you can see the exhaust ram or whatever it is, I had to cap it off because the nipple was just a tad bit to far forward on an angle to get it bolted up. Does not effect the performance of it. And yes by adding this header you can feel a slight change in power/torque. again this is my personal experience and I am sure some may try and debate that but I am very in tune with my car.

I would recommend this buy from ebay as I am not disappointed by any means. I also snagged a nice cat back on there as well for next to nothing. My exhaust is full stainless front to back for less than $225.00

Don't always be fooled by brand names and prices. You can find some good deals on weird named or no named parts. ALSO you should look around on here for used stuff. A part like this wouldn't hurt to buy used from a member to hook a fellow tuner up. All you really need to do is clean it and it will be good as new. Yet again probably getting a great deal.

I'll leave this here, it'll maybe help u some. I did this on my FS, no problem whatsoever. Just have a muffler shop with a good welder to turn the hangers around and move the second O2 sensor to the opposite side of where it comes, the first O2, the cable is long enough to reach. DNAs headers runs for as low as 80 bucks, and if u have a good muffler shop nearby, the can do the whole job and installation for around 40-60 bucks. The 4-2-1 design helps torque and midrange, the 4-1 design demands high rpms for the best gains, but our engines dont like to rev up high, so I found the best compromise was the 4-2-1,and im glad i did
