2001 LX - Direct connection to stereo?

Hey there everyone, first post for me. I have a question about getting a direct connection to the stereo.

I just got a new mp3 player and would love to connect it to my stereo. I don't want to mess with an fm transmitter. My stereo has a button labeled MD/Tape, which I have neither of so I'm assuming it can act as an aux input. I have no car stereo experience though. Anyone know what it'll take to get this set up? Thanks a bunch.

Awesome, thanks. It looks like I'll try and go with the AuxMod when they're available again. However, the AuxMod site says it only works with 2001's if the HU is 2-Din. How do I know if I have a 2-Din HU or not?

A normal aftermarker HU you buy is single din, 2 DIN is twice as high as one of them. ie a normal Hu is about 2 1/2" high and a 2 DIN is about 5" high.

you can go to www.sonicelectronix.com and buy a harness for the brand of radio that you bought. Harness will connect to stock radio harness, and the other end into the radio. Just have to connect the wires (color coded)

I'm pretty positive you have a 2din if its the cd/tape player all in one unit. single dins are the typical aftermarket stereo you see everywhere. 2dins are twice as tall.
