ZZ4 GM perfomance motor with 1600. miles on it.

Developed by GM Performance Parts are these ZZ4 crate engines, which are evolved from the popular ZZ series of small blocks that power thousands of street rods, hot streetcars, circle track racers and drag racers. These ZZ4 350 c.i.d., 4-bolt main, 1-piece rear main seal crate engines have approximately 10.0:1 compression, 355 hp at 5,250 rpm and 405 ft./lbs. of torque at 3,500 rpm. To make this package work GM Performance Parts have installed forged 1053 steel internally balanced crankshafts, 5.7 in. powdered metal connecting rods with hypereutectic flat top pistons with offset pins. Hydraulic billet steel roller camshafts are installed with .474 in. intake lift, .510 in. exhaust lift and duration at .050 in. for intake is 208, and exhaust is 221 and a lobe centerline of 112 degrees. Stamped steel self-aligning rocker arms with a 1.5:1 ratio are used on cast aluminum 1987-91 Corvette L98 cylinder heads. Which have 58cc combustion chambers, 163cc intake runner volume. They have a 1955-86 bolt pattern with "D" shaped exhaust ports and center bolt valve cover patter layouts, no exhaust heat crossover passages and the ends of the heads are drilled for standard accessory bolt patterns including angle plug configurations. Aluminum dual plane intake manifolds with dual flange set up. Cast iron Long style water pumps are used with standard "V" belt rotation and 1979-86 power steering pump bosses. GM HEI large cap with internal coils are installed to deliver the spark.

TCI street/strip 350 transmission with extra clutch packs and a manual valve body.
These TCI StreetFighter transmissions are durable enough to withstand the rigors of even the toughest street machines. They are ideal for engines producing 450 HP with a non-supercharged system. Equipped with a manual/automatic valve body, most units allow you to manually shift the vehicle into each gear change or, by placing it in the drive position, remain fully automatic. In either mode, you get a racetrack shift that bangs through the gears and shaves time off your ETs. When you use the manual gear selection feature, the StreetFighters upshift and downshift right when you move the lever, with no lag or governor override. When you select the normal drive position, they retain positive automatic shifts, for the ease of driving you look for in an automatic transmission.

Bill got bored and decided to primer the tail gate in black primer then tape off the letters CHEVROLET and paint them laser blue.

Since he just couldn't leave the tail gate black he did the fenders in black too.

We had an alternator on the truck from a junk yard. The internal regulator decided to wig out and spiked to 18V one night on the way home from the movies.

So Bill used it as an excuse to get a 100 amp chrome alternator. (silly boy)

Click the link under my sig pic to see where I live.

Next getting past the dog might be a problem. :D

German Shepherd/Border Collie/Coyote mix might not want you in her truck. That's her place for "truck rides"

Our old Mustang was a 66. She bit a guy that tried to steal it from a fast food parking lot.

Went out for lunch and had the dog in the back seat of the Stang. Julio & Jose walked up to either side of the mustang and reached in. She nipped the guy on the right side then lunged across the car and latched onto the guy on the driver side. She came half way out of the car with her teeth sunk into his arm.

She got left overs.

I'd have gotten her her own burger! :D

That's a sweet truck. Are you planning to paint it?

I almost wouldn't, looks pretty bad ass primered

It was a Taco Bell that had just opened. She got her own beef burrito.

I've thought about rechroming the grill and bumper and doing the truck in a satin black. No waxing needed. LOL

But there is also talk of doing the truck laser blue with red flames with white tips. Kind of give it that red, white & blue theme stemming from the style of the license plate.

Another idea is to paint the truck corvette white and have laser blue flames with white pearl tips..

Anybody want to do some paint schemes in photoshop?

It would be funny if the mazda forum came up with a paint scheme for the Chevy that Bill & I both agreed upon.

Might even have to make up a sticker for under the hood that reads paint scheme designed by mazdas247.com LOL

Bill's latest idea is painting the truck satin black. (no waxing needed) and using the same paint form the Prote to paint laser blue (with extra blue pearl) flames.

Really nice truck and with that crate motor it must really scoot!

Are you thinking of running an air-bag setup? As for the color...I like solid colors...all white...all primer/satin black...with chrome accents like the grill and headlights etc...Keep the updates & pics coming! :D

Bill installed the chrome hood latch today. They sent the wrong grill. We ordered the Chrome grill with black splash guards. They sent the original style with the cream colored splash guards. So UPS will be picking up the grill on Friday. A new one is already on its way from Kansas City, it'll be here on Wednesday.

Bill got bored with just the fenders being black so he rattle canned the hood in black primer. Then he dug out his old flag pole and flag from our old Jeep. While he was working on the hot rod today he had 50's music playing on XM radio.

Then tonight in the dark he painted the doors and bed side.
