14.0 with under $1k in mods

arunto - 103mph trap speed? either bad 60 or car doesnt come to life till the end..

boosted protege - good job on the run! Be nice to start see'ing MSP's in the 13's without n2o... doesnt it feel good to get so close?

my big ugly boat ran 13.89@99mph with $130 in mods. Then its taken another $1000+ to get 13.42@102 ... funny huh... $800 of it was headers and exhaust crap...

60 foot - 2.2

I had boost spike in 1/8th mile that prevented traction. My mph that day was no slower than 100mph.

I need to get my car to the track, but i need to get my traction problems under control first. Has anybody tried going with wider tires, like a 225 40
 
i was thinkin to get a pair of 16" n/a 300zx rims, they are 16x7.5 and our bolt pattern, but i think ull need a spacer to clear our suspension...but there are several DR tires made specifically for this size rim......im gonna check it out this spring...i may end up gettin 14" or 15" volks and slicks though.....

What times do you guys thing i should run with ion fmic injen cai and the ion full 3'' turboback system at stock boost I think they said id be pusing 200 whp with this setup? Any ideas though

yea you'll be near 200whp for sure. just bump it up to 10psi and you'll have some fun!
 
ive read that a injen cai adds like 10-12 whp so your saying that a fmic and turbo back exhaust will add 38 whp at stock boost maybe 200 crank horsepower:rolleyes:
 
I thiunk the fmic gets about 12-15 and the full turbo back gets about 25 So it should be close Not sure I would think my gains would go up if i decide to boost Do you think that would get me in the 13s
 
Also my car is unflashed I was told not to get the flash if i planeed on boosting Any info if this will help if i decide to up the boost

Where do you plan on getting a FULL turbo back for under 800 alone (not to mention whatever other mods you were planning)

I ask b/c i just set up a group buy locally here in orlando that is 800 bux for a 3" turbo back (bottom of DP back) with a 3" cat (odb2), mandrel bends, a flex pipe at the DP and a stainless steel magnaflow 3" inlet muffler and 4" 15degree tip...

Just wondering if you knew of a manufacturer that could beat that before we do this here?

Ion is making one it is $1100 but it replaces the casted s pipe that callaway made for the speed so this is a true turbo back because it will not have to make the s bend it will go staight out . I plan to get this soon . Hopefully next group buy
 
custom 3in downpipe and exhaust cost gcotton 350 for aluminized steel.. that includes fab, labor and install.
He added on a skunk2 muffler, for like 200 installed.
Thats 550 total...

You can get stuff cheap...

you might see 12-15 with a cai and fmic and just say you could get 15-20 hp with a turbo back...unflashed these cars only put down about 150 to the wheels so that would get you up to about 177-185 tops....you need to catch up with me sometime and take my car for a spin with re-flash and mods its a big difference over stock.......BTW were going back to the track Sun if you wanna roll
 
mbc for 15 bucks, intake custom made from yours truely and a got a shop makin me a custom 3" turbo back (spipe and all) made of ss for 700.........
