coolant leak?

hey guys, my car has about 9500 miles on it. im not sure if this is coolant leak or not tho, i smell something weird after my car has been running alot on a hot day. and i find this today on some of the hoses. for some reason tho, its worse in the pic then it really is. could i just get some confirmation that it IS or ISNT coolant leak?

I get the same smell, but I had different stains. I do not see coolant stains in your photos.

Apparently, the coolant smell after driving is normal. I had mine pressure tested for leaks at the dealership and they could not find any. I put a small clamp on the radiator overflow tube. That was the source of my coolant spots. I still get the smell, but not spots.

Best thing to do would be to change all of your water hose clamps out and use the worm type made by Tridon. The factory clamps evidently can expand and will let out small amounts of coolant.

yeah...I have a real small leak (very minor) on the top hose where it connects to the engine block. It'll develop a small buildup of "dried" coolant at that connection. I keep a very close eye on it, and w/ be replacing that hose w/ a better one (ss braided) w/ my next paycheck. My MSP has 36,250 on it & I'm still at the "low" level in my reservoir.

When my coolant leak was small it misted the coolant out of the crack and the stains looked different...like the ones in your photo. Then the leak got worse and it began to spray more and was more green colored. Regardless, I would take it to the dealer if you are noticing any wierd residue building up.

Has to do with our car running hot, bad mazda clamps, and spending $1.50 and 10 mins redoing your clamps to fix it.

8k miles after finding the problem with mine ive yet to see any coolant anywhere in my engine
