Question about stop/start and different trim levels

that sloves that unless you go to youtube for hood sensor deac + you get a heavy duty starter with harder steel teeth and a heavy duty battery
You should not replace the i-Stop starter with a conventional one as it is completely different. This is not something you need to worry about. Also, the battery specced for the car is already heavy duty compared to the non-i-Stop cars.

?? That's exactly what @GTXT23 said!

If you read the full sentence it sounds like he is saying you need to do those things to prevent the i-Stop system from causing harm or problems down the road. Key word "unless".
No, you are misreading his statement. Repeated below with my emphasis on "do"

next question- you do get an upgraded HD starter and teeth that are lifetime if you dont use [iStop] and a super HD battery as well - so getting i-stop and disabling it actually is a drvetrain upgrade '!!!

At least here in Aus, all Mazdas which have iStop - which is all Skyactive versions of Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-3 SUV, CX-5 SUV, and CX-9 - are fitted with what is called an EFB - “Enhanced Flooded Battery” which is basically a souped up lead acid battery.

EFB are designed to cope with the more frequent starts. Yes, they do cost a bit more than a standard battery of the same CCA but I have shopped around and found good quality replacements at a reasonable cost.

Exactly what are all these alleged “harms from iStop that occur down the road”? Please be specific and provide evidence.

Myself, having had CX5’s that had/have iStop since around 2014, never saw any such “harms”. Not once.

Having looked at reported iStop issues on forums, just about every such report was not an iStop problem or failure, it was either the owner not understanding how iStop works or more importantly, the conditions under which is will/will not activate, or, was due to problems with the car’s battery or charging systems causing iStop not to activate.

None of these are actually iStop problems at all. In any case resetting the iStop system is quick and easy, although is rarely actually needed.

I may have written abbreviated sentences - so clarification :
IF you get a cx5 with I-stop you will also get standard OE - HD battery , starter, starter teeth and flywheel teeth - thus its a bonus and if you take 5 minutes to disable the istop system by disconnecting the open hood latch sensor - the istop never activates - thus you have a heavy duty starting system as a result - so I like the i-stop upgrade -

Theres 2 different hood latch sensors - one you show here is i believe on some and the video im attaching is on the newer cx5s - and as he says its on the passenger side
Hood latch switch:

This shows one type of sensor and in the video im attaching its on the newer models on the passengar side of the latch deprnding on country - in the usa its on the left side - one phillips screw amd its disconnected - has no other interface issues with other systems -
