spoiler brake light

This may be a stupid question, but does the spoiler brake light light up when you turn on your headlights like the tails do?

Ok. I just had a 03.5 spoiler installed and wanted to make sure. Now tho, everytime I touch my brakes, my left turn signal lights up. Has this happened to anyone before? Do you think the shop maybe crossed a wrong wire?

no not a rebuilt title. brake lights and turn signals work correctly. left turn signals does not blink, just stays lit until I release the brake

no other light is coming on? that's very strange. anywhere the bridged circuit is occuring should trigger the signal relay, and would make all the signals go on (not flashing though). the only place i could see it happening without triggering the relay is directly from the brake switch. have you traced the wire back from behind the pedal (green/yellow) to the harness it's connected to?

[edit: i had posted brake switch wire was brown before, just checked the wiring guide and was wrong (actually green/yellow. brown was the wire from the aftermarket alarm)]

The shop said they had to cut the plug off from the spoiler cuz the car side plug was gone. The guy said he had to run a "long" wire, but it works. Obviously they spliced into somewhere, guess I better go look at their hack job

they shouldn't have had to cut into anything... just splice a lead from the brake light and ground it and they were all set. sounds like they f'd up.

this is why I do research, and my own work.

Can anyone tell me or show a pic of where the brake wires plug into?
with factory wing light wiring, there is a lead that is run up through the trunklid... on the 03.5 it terminates near the upper left hand corner (of looking at open trunk from back)... on the 03 MSP i believe it goes to the center... ES I would imagine is one of those 2, but I do not know which.

They should have just spliced off the stock 3rd brake light. Sounds like you need to go back to the shop have them fix it free of charge or demand a refund and blacklist them to your friends.

Here is what I discovered.....half of the plastic on the harness is broke off/missing and the ground wire was hooked up to a blank spot in the harness..lol. I put the ground wire where it should be and my turn signal no longer lights up when I apply the brakes, but I still have a broken harness
