I posted this a while back and alot of people said 6*9's could not fit in the rear. I removed my stock box and dropped these in. Anyone looking to do this...The wires are already there, on the passgener side the wires are green, and the driver side they are brown. I'll post pics later this week.

what would prevent them from fitting? they won't, however, fit in a Protege5

They fit, but you have to remove your subwoofer/amp compartment. I'd rather have the sub.

if you remove the stock sub of course they will fit.. :)
Not a bad idea if you are looking to go with a bigger sub.
I thought about doing this, because i hate the location of the rears. I cant hear them at all...

i have put in 6*9 in th erear when my car was 60 miles old now it has 13k i di dnot take out the stcok sub i just drope din the 6*9 and fille din the holes with stirofome (sp?) lol. and there is no rattling.:D

It all depends on the magnets size if they will fit or not, Obviously. Some 6x9's have shamelessly small magnets.

yeah, see the ones i was planning to put in have 53oz magnets

not cool dude!

haha, but it's all good :D
at least i have the 6x9's, right?

Guys these are no wimpy speaks, here is a pic. By the way they are so quiet! I really need to put an amp for high's in.

Magnet "size" has nothing to do with anything. It matters what KIND of magnets they are. There are different materials available. Big magnet doesn't mean good or big sound.

Very true, however a tiny magnet is usualy a sign of a weaker speaker. But a large magnet does not autamaticly make a speaker better.

As for cuspid, sounds like a $30/pair of crap form JC Whittney. Unlike magnet size, the 700 WATTS sticker on them is a dead give away to a bad speaker.
