Bov Question

Hi , my msp is bone stock and I just installed a forge blow off valve yesterday everything went good but the only thing is when Im at idle and I rev the car I wont ear nothing, but other then that when the turbo spools I ear very well so I was just wondering if it was normal cuz the car was stock . Thank you!

Are you saying that when you are standing still and you rev it then you don't hear any bov sound? That is normal cause your engine isn't actually under load. When you are driving you are under load and the air is moving a "tad" more.

are you having stalling issues? if your stock except for that you might stall soon. if you want to hear it at idle throw the clutch in and then hit the gas

I just intalled a new BOV on my msp....but the air doent come out of it....it just goes right back to the intake........how do I fix that ?

you are recirculating the air just like stock? If that is the cae you need to disconnect the recirc hosing and plug the hole left in the intake. You're most likely going to stall in that setup unless you somehow sill have the stock bpv recircing. Can you post a picture of your set up and I could help see exactly what you have put on.

ok, you def are not recirculating so I don't think the air is going back into the intake pipe. Do you mean it isn't coming out of the BOV at all, so it is just going back into the cold pipe? That is bad if that is the case. Maybe the BOV isn't seeing the vac that it needs to function properly? is there more than one nipple on the BOV? Some BOVs have a pressure nipple and vacuum nipple. If yours has two switch them and see if that helps. Otherwise you need to play around with the tuning on the BOV and hope that that thing isn't shot.

Yea thats it, it goes back to the cold pipe. There is only one nipple on this one. When you say I have to play with the tunning, I dont know what I have to do man...Is there a simple way to fix that problem ??

Thanks !!

there is a bolt on teh top that can be tightened or loosened, you are gonna have to play around with that until you get rid of turkey and stalling issues. I'd suggest going as loose as possible while still having the bolt in and then drive for a touch, take your tools with you, if problem persists then tighten it down a touch and drive further, keep going until you get waht you want out of it. I know the Greddys adjust this way, Blitz and APEXi as well. TurboXS requires you to remove the top exposing the spring and drop washers into it changing the stiffness of the spring. i am not too sure how to adjust the HKS ut it looiks like there is a adjusting bolt on teh end of that in your picture.

where does your bov get its vac source from? have you checked to see if it is still intact and searched the line for cracks?

I have a similar problem, i just installed my forge bov and the turkey is still there whenever the throttle plate closes, why i do not know, any idea what color spring belongs in the bov for stock psi? i got the bov used and think the previous owner may have been running a psi greater than stock and therefore a different spring.
