just as a fyi, you will haft to take both those shafts out, as well as the shift forks and the 5th/reverse rod and the rod right beside it (i know you knew that). However be careful when you do this because there is a small spring and ball connected to the 1-2 and 3-4 shift rod, when you remove the punch pin at the bottom of that rod, and remove the gearshafts you got to be careful that that little ball at the bottom of the shift rod doesnt fly out (the ball im describing is part of the shift linkage and if the ball is out the linkage will not stay in any gear). o yea and when you go to install the shafts and the rods, go ahead and assemble the rod, shift forks and gearshafts outside of the tranny, because you will find that you cant fit the 1-2 shift fork over the rod and into the selector gear if you put the shafts and rod back in at different times...
you probably know this but i just wanna let you know so that you dont beat yourself up trying to get everything back in properly (just in case) if you need any help email me at
