ok, some might know my plan is to put an eaton s/c on my p5. the one from thomas knight. Boosthead.com

i sent mr. knight a few emails asking about this kit but as it turns out they stopped making it. no worries that sure isnt going to stop me. so i asked him for some details and it begins.......

this is what i got back so far...

"YOU MUST FABRICATE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. HERE IS ONE I BUILT USING A COMBINATION OF SUPERCHARGERS--MERCEDES CLK 230, GM 3800 NOSE, ETC."
and pics he sent me..

If you want more info...run a search on WOMP. I believe this has been attempted before - negative results.

Although WOMP was a centrifugal supercharger. This will be a whole different animal. Good luck with that custom manifold.

roots type blowers are freakin awesome (no bias here lol) they have instant power even down low, if you pull this off you'll have so much of my respect lol. I just dynoed 260.4 whp with my alpine roots blower. best of luck to ya.

got any vid? id love to see it!! or hear it...

Whats up with that belt on the SC pulley??

That small of a belt and you'd have mad belt slippage at any thing above ~10psi.

Roots SC are awesome, good luck with your project. I hope you can figure it out.

Just make sure you get a better belt setup.

This is a picture of my tib with it's supercharger.
I don't have a vid of my car personally but here is a vid of a girl named laura on newtiburon.com that has the exact same set up as me (alpine stage 2 boosting 6-7 psi) racing an SRT-4 first boosting 11 psi then upping its boost to 18 psi to try to beat the tib and it can't. The tib on the first pull misses 3rd gear but then starts to pull on the SRT-4. Roots type blowers give off a nice whine. Listen. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/supercharged+tiburon/0/1b614f4b-e6b7-47d2-8c53-65dd63cf990a.htm

It looks pretty tight up there on the intake mani. I'm still not sure why no-one has explored the idea of a shaft driven vortech SC.

I mean, run a shaft across the front of the engine. Pulley on the passenger side, SC on the driver's side where there's lots of space.

** and I think it's pretty funny that a SC V6 tib can barely beat an SRT4...

you do realize that the srt-4 is boosting 18 psi while racing from a roll where the turbo is most advantageous.

Ok my thoughts rite now was this. I was going to take one of the two extra manis I fot and take the plenium side off. Cut and grind the vics out to it is even and smooth. Then try and see if I can get a machine shop to fabricat a adapter plate for me. Pretty much I am going to see id I can have a roots sitting wheir the pleniums are sitting. If that can be accomplished then I would have them fabricat the adapter for the throttle bodies. I think the pulley side on a thunderbird or bonneville might work. Right now I am 5000 miles away so this wont be happening for a while. I have been thinking about this for a while and that is my plan for now.
