Mazda CX9 GT FWD
Good evening!
I purchased a 2012 CX9 GT FWD a few days ago. The car had 37 000 miles on it.
The computer was showing 14.5MPG. I've managed to raise it to 14.7, but it's still a lot below the manufacturer's 17 MPG.
Should I be worried about engine issues, or this is normal MPG for this car?

Thank you!

Did you reset the mpg computer? You press and hold the info button to reset, it'll read "- - -" then it'll calculate your mpg per you driving habits and not previous owner's. Slow traffic, stop / go, remote start warm up, will drive the mpg down really fast. 14.7 is not so off depending on how previous owner drove or if there was slow traffic, I get average 15.6 city AWD, I never get near 17 city unless I drive highway with no traffic. CX9 gas mileage is horrible, I'm so embarrassed by the mileage that when I have passengers, I set it to miles remaining instead of avg mpg, lol can't wait till the new model comes out, I'll probably trade it in.

Well,e to the world of the gas hog.
Our highway mpg usually runs around 21 now that the speed limits have all been raised to the 70-75 range.
