Protege5 WeatherTech Window Deflectors (w/Installed Pics)

Well for the longest time I thought these weren't available for the P5. I happened to check recently on WeaterTech's ebay site and their website and saw they were available. They still don't have a complete set of the dark colored ones (only fronts are available), but they have the light colored ones for the front and rear. I bit the bullet after Circuit and i12drivemyMP5 answered some questions for me about fitment and quality (thanks again!). I'm glad I winded up getting the light colored set since it matches my window tint pretty well. The windows do slow down a tad bit when going up due to less room for the windows to travel. The driver's side window seems to go up smoother than the others. We'll see how they are after they set in a while. In any case, I'm super happy with the look and quality of them...and can't wait to keep my windows down this summer a bit to let our dreaded FL heat escape some without having to run out to close my windows while I'm at work! (2thumbs)

awesome. these are on my "to buy" list in the future. they always have been.....for years in fact but something else always takes priority.

What are the benefits if having them never really looked into them.

Biggest reason for me is being able to keep the windows cracked open to keep air circulating while it rains. In FL, it's nice to be able to leave them cracked to allow the hot air to escape out of the car...and no worries if the rain comes. And thunderstorms pop up without warning sometimes during the summer. No need to run out to close the windows!

They are also nice in climates where you get colder weather. You can vent the windows to keep the inside of the windshield fog free vs. running the defroster constantly.

+1. Forgot to mention that. I never completed the defrost mod for my P5. Was in the process to do that but damaged a part of the HVAC so I stopped. Fortunately, my HVAC still works. We have our bouts with colder temps in N FL and fogging does occur if the windows are up. So it'll be nice to vent the car during rainy cold weather as well.

All of what has been mentioned.............diggit and have been for quite some time. Also less wind noise on frwy having window cracked open for whichever reason.

Took me a second to see whatcha did there..........that is not a reason to crack the window, lol.

Sure it is... It's dangerous of you can't see through the windshield.

This is why I have deflectors though...

Three wet sails and closed windows creates a sauna effect with 98% humidity and the stink of a swamp....

I prefer to ventilate...
