close/open loop issue

really glad this thread picked up a little, cuz im still lost, but also without an engine management, lulz

Haha yeah, sorry if F1yen and I are somewhat thread jacking here. If you can, also post up any PID graphs or at the very least a freeze frame from your car when it's acting up.

sounds like the good ol stock tune to me... just lean out your fuel map little by little until you step into the 11-12 range on afrs in boost. all i did to mine was lean out the map just before boost and a little in boost

I just want to clear things up so future forum members don't **** something up on their car/spout misinformation. Anything under 14.7 AFR is RICH and over 14.7 is LEAN. It's 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel. If you had leaned out your fuel map you'd be exactly where f1yen and thecrash91 are currently.

i have absolutely zero problem with you guys thread jacking, if anything its going to bring me closer to solving this damn issue!! i currently dont have anything to monitor, as i have no EMS, and dont have the torque app or the dongle =[

You don't need anything fancy, you can pick up a cheapy scanner with data streaming from Advanced for like $80 I think. Worth the investment for sure. Just make sure it has live data stream and not just a code puller.

the bluetooth OBD2 dongle is cheaper on ebay, i think 15-20 bucks or something. then the torque app is free or like 5 bucks for pro version

Does anyone know how to get knock count on the torque app? It would be a custom PID(s) to enter into it.

I am either looking for knock retard or knock counts.
I would buy the added PID's for the mazdaspeed (3 and 6's) if I knew they would work with our car, can someone confirm?

I don't feel like replacing the knock sensor if it does not bring up a code.... but if I can prove my car is seeing knock with the torque app, then either my car is knocking or the sensor is bad; hopefully at that point, its #2.

invest in a knocklight for $89 bucks if you can find the right website, and hook it up to the stock sensor, thats what i did. Turboxs makes it
